Drifted Inn - Riverfront Cabin

Stay at our little cottage on the shores of the Detroit River.
This one room cottage has all the makings of a simple getaway:
hammock, BBQ, private sand spit and fire pit.
Quintessential summer, minutes from downtown of Amherstburg.
Well suited to young families, girls' weekends, couples getaways, and anyone just looking for a bit of quiet.
The small beach is perfect for building sandcastles with tikes, or digging your lawn chair in and watching the sunset; the large deck is a great place to pass the afternoon, BBQ-ing and watching the freighters go by, the hammock is the place to polish off your summer reading list.

There is a bike lane along Front Road, for cyclists wanting to pop into town; or head to the wine route.

The Cottage makes a perfect jump-off point for: exploring the EPIC wine route, city of Windsor, Boblo Island, Town of Amherstburg, Holiday Beach, Point Pelee National Park.

We love this place!

This was our 3rd visit to Drifted Inn, and we booked our 4th while we were there. It's a beautiful little place, the beach is perfect for our son and it's close enough to town to get anything you need.

Great spot for a relaxing getaway

This place was great for a nice relaxing weekend. The view of the river was very tranquil and was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed the property thoroughly. The property is as advertised. Would definitely stay here again.

Best Staycation EVER

Just absolutely perfect for what hubby and I needed. Megan was very responsive, the cottage was as perfect as it could have been. Scenery was great, Tim’s just a skip away, comfortable bed and lunging furniture - I claimed the chair by the fire all weekend. Would definitely stay here again

We loved your riverfront cottage! It was perfect for a weekend away and relaxing. The girls built sand castles and played in the water, my husband fished, and I relaxed in the hammock. We enjoyed the town and the riverfront walk and shops as well.

Just what we wanted

Quiet place on the lake. Beautiful sunsets. The porch/deck was our absolute favorite place to be, morning and evening especially. Cozy little place, but its all we needed. We will return.

Amazing little gem

This was our second time staying, and we had yet another wonderful stay! We love the little town of Amherstburg, and this cottage is the perfect location. Watching the ships is always a favourite, but the closeness to multiple nature areas is a bonus as well. We were able to enjoy some bird watching at Point Pelee and Holiday Beach. The cottage is kept very clean, the bed is really comfy, and the kitchen was super well stocked! We can't wait to come back!

Fantastic

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was fantastic.It was very clean and had everything that you would need .We enjoyed siting on the patio or just relaxing in the hammock.We went to shooters twice for dinner.It was just a couple minute drive from the cottage The food was awesome and the waitresses were super friendly.highly recommend this cottage and shooters.

Very nice weekend!

Cottage was adorable and essentials were well stocked. Easy check-in and the nights were very quiet. Sunsets on patio were gorgeous and it was great to watch the big boats go by on their way to Detroit. We also loved walking around Amherstburg, such a cute historic downtown. Little bit of confusion on the check out time and the water had a bit too much seaweed to swim, but would recommend the cottage to friends.

So nice and relaxing

We had such a nice and relaxing time. There are no surrounding neighbors, so privacy is great. It is a little closer to the road than we had hoped, but we still enjoyed it so much. There was a nice sand area for our children, and we could still take them in the water. We enjoyed the gas fireplace inside on the rainy days. We also enjoyed the hammock, birds, and barges that went by. It was a cozy place.

The property was very clean inside. There was construction next door everyday at 8am until 4pm. The doors are lacking as the allow spiders and mosquitos into the property and my husband and I were bitten many times. I shouldn’t need bug repellent indoors.

Location was great, private, and relaxing. Neighbor woke us up the first day there as they thought they left their cell on site. Didn't really need that at 8 am especially after traveling from a diff timezone with 2 small kids... Cottage was clean, couldn't figure out the heater so had a couple cold nights, Murphy beds were fine for the kids but messed with my wife and I's back/hips. Big time ant problem in the kitchen area that cost us some food early, I probably killed 30 ants in the kitchen myself. My wife and I enjoyed sitting outside and the boys enjoyed the little beach. Dual Mini Fridges stored everything we needed for our week long stay. When you arrive its more like a really old cottage with really old furnishings that needs some work so keep your expectations in line with that and you will be fine.

Didn't want to leave!

Exceeded expectations! The location is really a treasure. Very private and literally ON the water. Sitting on the deck watching the big ships is absolutely the best! The cottage is also fully stocked for cooking and the linens are excellent quality. The location is also super convenient... Just minutes to town, big box stores, grocery, and restaurants. We hope to be back!

Another excellent stay

This was our second year staying at the Drifted Inn, and it was another wonderful time for our family. As always, the cottage is clean, cozy and comfortable. We had beautiful weather all week which let us take advantage of dinners on the deck, lots of fun on the little private beach, and beautiful sunset views. Thank you for another wonderful summer getaway. We have already booked for next year, and can't wait to return.
