The house is comfortable and has an open space concept which is great when you have kids. The outdoors is beautiful and wish to go back in the summer to enjoy all this house has to offer! The driveway is not horrible! A few pothole but very duable!

The actual house is great.
The house is in need of repairs, there are stains on all the furniture, the wifi is not great, even when we finally figured it out, the driveway almost requires 4x4 at this time. Now the good, the house was nestled in a wire mountain setting a way from all the tourist stuff. it was so quiet and peaceful. The house was clean and comfortable. However, it could use a little tlc. The price is great for everything you get.
We enjoyed the cabin. I've never seen a house with so many light switches!! Thankfully they were all labeled. It was clean and nice. The WiFi worked well too. Our biggest issues were the road into the property. I wish we had known it was better geared go all wheel drive vehicles. We did make it through though. Lastly, the furniture could use a refresh or deep cleaning as they were somewhat stained. All in all, we would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Gorgeous Home Needs Different Property Manager
We absolutely loved the house and the area! That said, we will NEVER stay in another Vacasa-managed property!
Smokey Mountain Getaway is an absolutely beautiful home in a gorgeous area of the NC mountains! If a remote, quiet getaway is what you're seeking, you'll find it here!
Centrally located amid Bryson City, Cherokee, Fontana Dam, Nantahala and more, you can avail of your heart's desire of any number of activities and shopping, all within about a 30-minute drive in multiple directions. Porches off nearly every room allow guests to enjoy birdsong, fragrant flowers, and the sounds of the surrounding tranquil forest. We even saw a wild turkey!
The house is spacious and beautiful and the bathrooms are luxurious, but the home overall is in need of some TLC. While the beds provided are quite comfortable, the other furniture (sofas/sofa beds) are somewhat aged, stained, and without much charm or comfort. The grounds themselves show some evidence of neglect. What once was obviously a gorgeous property with thoughtfully and devotedly landscaped shrubs, herbs, flowers, and trees has declined to what appears to be weekly grass mowing.
Vacasa's front line staff responds with professional empathy and promises speedy resolution, but NO ONE LOCALLY WILL FOLLOW UP TO ADDRESS YOUR CONCERNS! Stay in this lovely home at your own risk, because if your AC breaks, if the house isn't clean, if linens are missing, if the WiFi fails, etc., you're on your own. Vacasa DOES NOT follow through.
The house and property are beautiful and we had a wonderful time, BUT upholstery on most furniture was so stained, cigarette butts all around outside, found a dirty towel and washcloth, and a dirty pan in the cabinet. Not enough towels.

Disappointing
The house was overall dirty. The hot tube was not clean, the grill was not clean, there was dust around the house, one of the dishwashers was not clean and broken.
Horrible driveway. Kitchen not well appointed. Stained furniture. odor in upstairs bedroom. Just not a place I will be staying again

Home was large and spacious
Home was large and very spacious. The house needs some TLC as it has potential to be absolutely spectacular. Upstairs shower leaked into the living room downstairs so it was unusable. Hot tub was broken. Three wasp nests that we found by getting stung, house needs pressure cleaned badly, stove had a large crack on the glass smooth top. House was not ready after check in time due to cleaners still cleaning. Would definitely stay again if these items were addressed because overall the house is large and beautiful just needs a little love for a couple of weeks to bring back it’s full charm

Great location, but major issues that need attentionWe loved the location of this property — it’s in a beautiful area, the yard is large compared to most places we’ve stayed in the Smokies, and there’s plenty of indoor space for a family. We also appreciated the secure area for storing trash and keeping bears away. Unfortunately, the positives were overshadowed by a long list of problems that made our stay frustrating.Cons: • Shower leaks badly: The shower door doesn’t seal, causing water to pour onto the bathroom floor every time you shower. • Poorly equipped kitchen: There weren’t many basic items to cook with, which made meal prep difficult. • No internet/no cell service: The listing/property manager claimed the internet issues were due to the provider, but there isn’t even a modem in the house — only a mesh router with nothing connected to it. After being caught in the lie, the manager stopped answering calls for the rest of the weekend. • Appliances in bad shape: The stove top is cracked, and the microwave doesn’t work at all. • Safety concerns: The outside steps and walkways are very slippery and feel unsafe. • Limited TV options: There’s no TV service, only a Roku on the living room TV — and no TVs at all in the bedrooms. • Privacy issues: No curtains on the bedroom windows or the bathroom. • Rodent problem: We saw mice throughout the stay.Pros: • Great location • Plenty of indoor space • Large yard
Beautiful hime. Had everything you could ask for! Problem was that the AC had went out in 2 of the rooms. Of course the livingroom and one of the bed rooms. Text multiple times and also called. With 2 days left of our vacation, we had to endure 81° + degrees. I wouldve thought that there HAD to be a company that had After Hours or Emergency Service, seeing I had past a few billboards with company name and just assumed it would be handled. Only response I received was *Will let you know about an update* ??? Well 2 days there was no update. Went to Dollar General and bought 3 box fans. I hope they got that fixed before the next guest arrive! Wondering if I would receive some type of compensation for the 2 days we were inconvenienced.

The search continues…
the pros:this house has unending potential. it is sectioned off in a way that is ideal for multiple families. three kitchen areas, four bathrooms, so many sleeping options and multiple porches. it was perfect for our configuration of guests. it’s also incredibly private and great for kids and dogs to explore safely. it’s lush and green and while a bit overgrown, still has a lovely secret garden-type feel. sadly, the cons outweigh the pros and we likely won’t stay again…it’s evident that this house is run by a management company — it lacks TLC and an individual’s touch. the furniture is stained and dingy, despite vacasa communicating multiple times that upgrades had been made when we inquired after reading the multiple reviews complaining about the couches. there was an enormous, active bee hive under one of the decks, which we didn’t realize until multiple stings were endured. the hot tub is broken and empties itself whenever the jets are turned on, resulting in us needing to refill it ourselves if / when we wanted to use it. one of the dishwashers was broken and the large crack in the stove top (mentioned in previous reviews) is still there, making cooking on that part of the stove impossible. there’s also the labyrinth of light switches throughout the house, the majority of which are labeled (thankfully) but many of which do not actually control the correct lights and some of which don’t work at all.i so wish vacasa had taken the time to actually fix these issues ra
