Room and bathroom was very clean. Complementary hot breakfast is not bad-- better than the "continental breakfast" some chain hotels offer. Warning: no coffee in the room, but I prefer to stretch my legs and head downstairs for the 24 hour coffee. No decaf coffee though. My suggestion is for Management to provide decaf teas, and perhaps a few hot chocolate sachets close to the hot water airpot. These are not complaints. This hotel provides good value for the money you pay. We enjoyed our quiet stay, mainly because this property is not on the main highway, yet conveniently close to wherever we wanted to go.

The staff were super friendly and down-to-earth. The area suffered a power outage the night we stayed, and the staff took extra care to make sure we understood what was happening and could find our way around. The room was basic but very clean & comfortable. The window coverings did not adequately keep out exterior light (no problem if you have an eye-shade). Midweek breakfast includes waffles made-to-order (no meat items). The staff added eggs and potatoes as a special "thank-you" for our patience during the town power outage - much appreciated! We had read about the hotel cats in other reviews. The cats have their own room overnight, and are outdoors during breakfast. The only time they are around is during the day, after most guests have left. They are very sweet - and we enjoyed hearing their stories from the employees! Would highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, quiet surroundings, and personality.

The only place I’ll stay in Alamosa
I always like staying there. Great price no frills just a safe, comfortable clean room. It’s not fancy but has everything you need for a comfortable stay whether it’s one night or multiple. I’ve stayed there a few times and will always stay there when I’m in Alamosa.

Clean, nice budget rooms. Bed ok, but horrible rock hard pillows. Good hot breakfast, staff working hard to keep everything supplied. Would stay again, as long as I bring my own pillow.

Overall a nice place to stay. Good sized room, clean and comfortable. The only slight issue is that there wasn't a "dresser". No drawers to put your clothes in. There is a closet to hang clothes.

Lovely room!
Newly remodeled room. Loved the arrangement of the microwave & refrigerator with sink and small counter. Perfect set up for 2 adults and 2 children for hiking in area.

Property is fairly new, but just a block or two off the main "drag" so it was quieter inside and out. They also had a full complimentary breakfast with real eggs, sausage, and fried potatoes all freshly made by a hostess as we ate. Staff was very courteous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Better than chain hotels
Nice hotel! The rooms are spacious and it was nice having the little kitchenette. Breakfast was great! Very animal friendly hotel, had cats walking around inside the morning I left. Outside grounds are still being renovated. There’s not a great grassy area for dogs to be walked, as everything is gravel. A turfed area would be a great addition to this hotel! Overall, nice place to stay especially for the price. I would definitely return.

The Sunset Inn was a great place to stay if driving through Alamosa. It was nicely done and updated. Close to eateries as well. Staff was friendly and breakfast was delicious especially the potatoes!

Property was obviously pretty new. The room was clean and nice but the lighting was poor, not enough light to read by. The breakfast was good for a free continental type breakfast but seemed the hotel was short on help so the breakfast bar was not restocked quickly enough. One young family that came in after us was disappointed that there was almost nothing left to eat. The next day maybe a different staff and the problem seemed better but we ate elsewhere.

Good value hotel. Wi-Fi was good, room and bathroom was spacious, breakfast was good, the kitty was a nice touch, and the staff was nice and helpful. The shower head needed to provide more water volume because it took too long to rinse off. There were no tissues in the room and the mattress was worn on the edges. Overall, the stay was pleasant.
