"When they say that 4x4 with high clearance is required, it is no joke. At least if you turn from Rt 142 driving from Monteverde. 6km of off roading at crawl speed. Fun if you are prepared. The road from the opposite direction is better paved, but you would still feel more comfortable in a SUV. Google does not estimate driving time on bad roads correctly. "The stay was great if your looking for short term and privacy away from tourism. Getting there you will need a 4WD or all terrain vehicle. The roads are rocky and bumpy. This is definitely a place for a great view of the volcano. The suite was cute and intimate. Worth the price for a night or two away from the busier areas."

"The house was immaculate, secure and quite. Our host was at the house for check in and greeted us warmly. Offered services to set up tours, gave us recommendations for food and answered phone calls promptly. Guillermo was our host and key to our amazing stay at Macadamia. We didn’t have a vehicle, but calling for a taxi was easy and quick. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay in quiet surroundings yet close to all the local activities. "
