⚠️ **WARNING TO TRAVELERS: HOTEL CHAMAR, PARIS, FRANCE** **Serious Concerns About Property Safety, Maintenance, and Unexplained Charges!** I am sharing my experience to warn other travelers about what I consider unacceptable treatment at Hotel Chamar in Paris. While opening a hotel door, a sudden gust of wind forced it open rapidly. The doorstop failed to prevent the door from striking the wall, causing the glass to crack. **Why was the doorstop unable to prevent this damage?** Was it improperly installed, defective, or poorly maintained? Hotels have a responsibility to maintain safe premises. Guests should not automatically be held financially responsible for accidents potentially caused by inadequate maintenance. The hotel allowed me to use my prepaid room and collected a €150 deposit, supposedly standard procedure. **After checkout, they charged my credit card €150 without providing a receipt, invoice, or explanation!** Even more concerning, the hotel requested a written statement for its insurance company, which I provided. Yet they still charged me! **Why should a guest pay for damage when the hotel's own safety equipment failed to prevent it?** I urge travelers to exercise caution when booking Hotel Chamar. **Guests deserve safety, transparency, and accountability, not unexplained charges!** I cannot recommend this hotel until these serious concerns are properly addressed.

A very good hotel in a pleasant quiet suburb with easy access to the metro and not too far from the city centre. Every member of staff we interacted with was polite, friendly, and eager to help. The room itself was pleasant, with a comfortable bed and a quite large bathroom and good facilities. This is a hotel that I would definitely use again if visiting Paris.
