“not as usual hotel”

If you look for something diffrent to 4 walls of your regular hotel room, you should like this location. It is large flat with around 6-7 rooms (some with bathrooms), 2 common bathrooms, common, good equiped living room and kitchen. It provides you with oportunity to chat with other guests and strech your legs without going outside. In plus - location - absolute heart of Warsaw, clean and nice rooms and bathrooms, free wi-fi, "home" feeling. Minuses: separate reception and neccesity to bring back the key there when leaving. Not a big problem imho

“Very good for a BB”

It is a BB thus the 3/5 for the comfort. If you don't mind the stairs (about 60 steps) and if you don't need a room service valet to pamper you, I would recommend you to take a room in this BB. The room was smaller than what it seemed to be, but we didn't really care, we wanted just a place to sleep. Quite and clean rooms. Nice common area. Free internet and a computer to use if you don't have one. Large flat screen TV + what was supposed to be a cable TV (didn't used it) + DVD player. Nice kitchen + fridge. Anyone intending to stay few days may enjoy it better than what we did. Down side, to one there to assist you. You will pay the fees 200m away, you can then reach them only by phone. The price was not really cheap as I found a 4* hotel the night after for the same price (but during the week's day it was the cheapest). Nice location too, right in downtown Warsaw. Enjoy!

“Be fit to reach the reception and your room. No elevators.”

The check-in was at a different location. When you show up at Chmielna 12 address you will find a big SEXSHOP sign rather than your hotel. If you know the Polish language, as I do, people will direct you to a hotel Diana in the backyard, however this is not your place. The reception is several hundred meters away at a different address Nowy Swiat 27. You have to leave your luggage on the ground level, climb over 100 steps to the 4-th floor to find the reception. Be prepared to have enough Polish zlotys to pay in advance and a deposit for the key. You can leave a deposit in a foreign currency though, get your Polish money for a bankomat or a bank, return to the reception and retrieve your deposit. When you return to Chmielna 12 with a key, klimg three flights of stairs, again without elevators, after two secuer doors you will find a nice place. A common area with free Internet, TV, kitchenette, free tea or coffee, and a clean bedroom with fresh linens, towels etc. The common showers and bathrooms are clean. In short, after you manage to find the place the rest is adequate to the price you are paying. he biggest advantage is that you are in the central part of Warsaw, where any other hotel would charge twice as much, or more.
