“Good hotel”
Convenience of hotel location, very good room and breakfast.
“Old but friendly and gracious”
This hotel has been around for a long time, so some of the features are from another time and they've made the best to upgrade. Our bed situation was wrong, we ordered separate twin beds, but got one large king size bed, which looked like two beds had been pushed together, but in reality shared the same mattress, so at bed time my restless bedpartner kept me awake with his tossing and turning. At that late time of night, the only other option was to put a cot in the room, as no other rooms were available. But the next day the reception called and offered us a room with separate beds. Breakfast was good and included in the price, computer access in the hotel sitting room was free. Hotel is two blocks from the main train and bus station, and borders on the charming old city. Rooms to the front of the hotel facing the street could be loud as bus and car traffic passes by, especially early in the morning rush hour. Our room faced the park. For old fashioned charm and service and good Bavarian food eat at the Bischofs Hof near the dome.
“Great location, great breakfast"”
Since Regensburg is a small town, the hotel is nicely located within 2 minutes walking from the train station, and about 5 minutes walking from the main tourist areas. The hotel was very clean and the shower was quite refreshing. Pillows were slightly uncomfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great. We had a lovely stay and would recommend to any travelers making a short stay in Regensburg. Would have loved to enjoy the patio bar, however, some rainy weather prevented this plan.
“Not really impressed with this hotel”
The hotel is in a good location, from which it's easy to walk to the city centre. Parking is quite inconvenient, being located two levels underground without stairs/elevator! Workaround: leave the car in front of the hotel door while you do the check-in and unload your baggage, THEN bring it down to the parking. Beware there is an unadvertised parking fee of 10 EU/day for the parking! The bathroom was ok, with glass-wall shower. They provided a mini-bed for our baby. The "double bed" is in reality two joined twin beds, so it didn't really feel comfortable, with the separating line in the middle.. The blankets provided (thin duvet) where not enough for the season/temperature. We had to ask more and they gave another kind (furry) to put on top, saying they don't have anymore duvet to give to us (!). There were not many amenities in the room, e.g. we had to request room slippers as they were not provided in the room. There is no internet connection in the room but there is a computer in the entrance hall from which a customer could use the internet. Breakfast buffet was very good with large choice. They even know what is "espresso" (the small Italian original variety). Overall this is a quite old hotel showing its age and not really being cared to its best. I don't know how it compares to other hotels of Regensburg as this was our first time in this city... but I doubt this could be the best there.
“Perfect”
Perfect: 1 block to train station; on edge of old town, spacious rooms, very clean, excellent breakfast. Parking for cars. Helpful staff.
“Excellent and elegant”
This was a delight--close to the railroad station (the hotel also has parking) and an easy walk from all the downtown sights. The service was prompt and friendly, the room very elegant, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. I was very pleased to have been able to arrange a good rate through Expedia at the last minute and found the whole experience to be good value in a charming city.
“Wonderful Hotel!!!!!”
After almost two weeks traveling through Germany and Austria we pulled up to our hotel in Regensburg and were surprised at how lovely this hotel was! I can honestly say that it was one of the nicest hotels we stayed in during out trip. We wished that we would have stayed here a second night! The breakfast room was absolutely amazing! It was like being a princess in a 16th century castle!! I would most definately stay here again!!!!!! In fact I would probably go out of my way to come and stay at this hotel again.
