“Good value”

This was a good value hotel in a great position beside Garden City Shopping centre... Quiet and convenient. Microwave, sink, kettle etc but could have done with a toaster. Overall really good.

Getting there
Was really convenient. Just off the main M1 on Logan Road.

“"Good for the money"”

The price was right and I appreciated the amenities such as a laundry room and coin operated internet.

Area recommendations
When visiting Brisbane make sure you take advantage of the nice beaches on the Gold and Sunshine Coast. I was told that in August the water would not be warm enough but for me and anyone from the North East US, it was.
Shopping
Go to Dingo Creek winery north of Brisbane. Not easy to find but enjoyed the visit, free samples and hospitality. Also picked up a couple of bottles to take home.
Outdoors or beach
Again check out the nice beaches.

“A great find”

I was so impressed with this hotel after spending a few days there earlier in the month that I rebooked for another weekend even though on paper it was located nowhere near where I needed to be. The reception desk staff are terrific and helped me with my enquiries about public transport into the city, quickly producing a printout of my options. The rooms are spacious and well equipped for self catering if you feel like doing your own thing. Alternatively there are lots of other options close by. The rates are very reasonable compared with an inner city hotel and as it's only a 20 minute express bus ride into the city I think it's a great alternative.

Area recommendations
South Bank has great arts venues and fantastic restaurants.
Getting around
Leave your car at the hotel and get an express bus to the city from the bus station which is 10 minutes walk away. The buses use bus ways and never meet or compete with other traffic and they run frequently, even at weekends. A daily ticket costs peanuts especially when compared with parking fees and the difficulties of driving in a strange city. Also, when you're in the city try the ferries and the catamarans. They're surprisingly quick and give you another view of the city.
Family-friendly activities
Take the boat trip to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. The river trip is peaceful and interesting and the sanctuary has all sorts of other critters as well as all the cute koalas. Kids of all ages love it!

“Cheap hotel cheap service”

Advantages: The hotel was placed close to the shopping center and close to a major bus hub. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dissapointments: The cleaning staff failed to vacum the room on repeated occassions. They didnt even bother to shake the bedsheets when they made the beds. Internet was very expensive, cheaper to go to macdonalds and use it there . I guess you get what you paid for.
