“Great Relaxing Holiday”
We booked four nights in the main chateau but stayed an extra night as we liked it so much. Had a pretty circular room in one of the towers with a nice view. Some paint on the windows was a bit cracked & the bathroom was unusual with a large wooden beam across part of the bath so you had to duck under it to get a shower! but I felt it all added to the charm. I didnt see a lift in the chateau so if you arent very mobile it may not be the best place. I cant praise the staff enough, they were all so helpful and friendly. The chateau was beautiful in a very peaceful location and it was a very relaxing break, we will definately go back.
“Great Loire Valley”
Excellent place to visit. Enjoyed the Wine country.
“A unique experience”
It was fun to stay in a castle. The heated towel rack and bathrobes were a nice touch. The grounds were beautiful. Stone spiral stairs were difficult to navigate - wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is disabled. Difficult to find, not enough road signs. Couldn't afford the high-priced restaurant after paying the price of the room but it was a unique experience and glad we did it.
“Beatifull place to stay”
Loved the hotel and the feel & look. Great spot for touring the Loire. The main restaurant was a bit over the top, and the 2nd one not good enough... but we usually ate elsewhere in the many wonderful places in the surrounding towns.
“Lovely hotel, disappointing stay”
This was booked as the highlight of a week in the Loire Valley and in the end it was a disappointing stay. The building and location are great. Good news and bad news on check in. As there were virtually no other guests, we had been upgraded to the main building from the coach house. As it was a Monday in Winter (nearly May!) the main restaurant was closed. The brasserie was however open. I had expected an eye-wateringly expensive but memorable meal in a special setting and got an adequate, expensive meal in a golf club bar.The room was very good with views over the golf course in two directions and a superb bathroom. It was great to see an espresso machine, shame that it required a trip down to reception to get some coffeee capsules at 2 euros a time. Sleep in the very comfortable bed was badly disturbed by a very loud generator that after some protests was eventually turned off. We skipped the 18 euros a head breakfast and departed feeling just a little let down. I would certainly give this place another go and would have to attribute at least half my disappointment to circumstances.
