“My”
The exterior is nothing special--looks like a college dorm, but the rooms are quite nice--stylish and quaint. About 10min from The Sydney Opera House. Only negative is the internet fee--$18 for 24hrs.
“Great Location and Modern Fittings - but the Bed makes sleepless nights”
It is a great location awy from the city and there is no parking fee (which is a BONUS). Modern fitting inside the room - not soo much on the entire building though. The only downside is the bed. We had 2 nights stay and none did we sleep well. Every morning we both had body pain when we woke up. I think if they change the bed to better quality, this establishment would be PERFECT.
“Should check this hotel out for your next North Sydney Stay”
Just off the Gore Hill Freeway into the Pacific Hwy, very easy to get to. Large carpark in and out. All rooms face west, therefore no highway noise ! We certainly would recommend this hotel !
“Look Elsewhere”
Please may attention to check-in and check-out times, they are very strict about this. I had to learn the hard way. The "shuttle service" only runs twice in the morning, so you'll need to find your own way back home. Overall nothing to great about this place, some broken things in my room; the t.v. stand, the AC card holder and the faucet sink handle. I might have just been unlucky getting placed in that room but overall the hotel could use a makeover.
“Boutique Hotel? Really?”
If you're checking in late at Punthill, prepare yourself for a bit of late-night rudeness. I really wasn't impressed after a long drive to not even get a "hello or welcome" or an offer to assist with luggage, reception(which is open 24hrs) made me feel like I was inconveniencing him by checking in. Then he made up a story about Expedia needing my photo I.D. for confirmation, when it's not Expedia's policy at all. As far as a city view, what I had was a great view of the carpark and the tops of some trees. The room was smaller than it looked online, and our television was on a slant because the brackets were broken, but no one seemed concerned about it. This hotel really needs to work on it's customer service.
“It's good by some staff but the manager seems not to be friendly at all.”
I'm Thai and I'm not sure the place suit me or not. For me, I felt good with 25 days staying there. It's long period staying for my business and hotel should feel great too. The surprise happened when one morning the manager, guy, drove to follow us till I arrived the work place. It's business area and there's nothing to do for this manager. Question is why did he have to do that? Do I look that incredible? Did he think my credit card information was fake? WHY? Also, no friendliness greeting from this guy which made me feel like I stay in this hotel by asking him for free price. So if you are gonna visit the place, just ignore this guy and you can stay more comfortable.
“Good value for the price.”
The property is acceptable for a short stay and one where you are not spending much time during the day at the property. We found the services very limited but perhaps that is the norm with a Boutique property. We checked in Friday night leaving Monday to find the restaurant closed over the weekend. We found this to be inconvenient. They did offer room service with a very limited menu. The buffet breakfast is not a buffet, they have all the makings of a continental with cereal, muffins, fruit, yoghurt on offer and then you are asked if you want a cooked breakfast. We were given eggs, bacon, tomato and sausage. Somewhat dissapointing but not bad for $20.00 Due to the location fronting onto the Pacific highway and at the back is the above ground car park so there is some noise no matter the floor or room. As I said overall, not bad value for the price.
