“Our favorite hotel in San Diego county”

Large comfortable rooms in "old Encinitas", convenient to the freeway and the beach. We've been here many times before and consider this hotel a real bargain.

Great view of the ocean from a large balcony! Nice variety of breakfast items.

“Will definately go back!”

The room was spacious and comfortable. Very clean. Great location. Can walk to the beach if you don't mind walking back up hill. A lot to do in the area. The pool and hot tub were very nice. A delicious convenient breakfast.

“Even better than we expected”

We were thrilled with our stay at the Best Western Encinitas. We had some special requests, which were always met with a smile and handled efficiently. The complimentary breakfast was actually yummy. The room was roomier than most chains and the balcony was almost like another room, giving us even more room to spread out and relax.

“back home”

The fan in the bathroom didn't work well at all. The lock on the sliding door was broken and difficult to lock, and would hurt your fingers because it was broken (had no cushion on it - just plain metal). The green tea shampoo stunk - smelled awful all day long...unless you like the smell of tea...we don't...The elevator smelled bad and was quite scary to ride (grinding noises). Tomiko's Restaurant was horrible - you may not want to recommend it to your guests....really bad....The room was clean. The hotel was in a nice area. I really don't think we'd stay there again.

Very nice, close to Ocean & restaurants/shops, no problems at hotel, courteous & friendly staff.

The room was very spacious with a large balcony. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too large and hard for me. It was quiet except for the train which actually didn't bother me and we did have a view of the ocean from the balcony. The continental breakfast was a cut above the standard plastic muffins with hard boiled eggs, fresh waffles and more. The restaurant had a nice happy hour and great sushi. I would stay here again.

“Nice place in Encinitas!”

The hotel is conveniently located to Downtown Encinitas, Moonlight Beach and about 10 miles from Legoland. There are also two parks within walking distance. The room was nice and spacious. Although the walls are pretty thin, so it can get noisy if you have loud neighbors. My husband thought the beds were too soft but I found them OK. Depends on your preference, I suppose. The continental breakfast was substantial with a lot of choices.

“Nice place to stay”

We stayed for 3 nights and overall were fairly happy. The room was nice, the pool area is nice, but the beds and pillows were to firm. The front desk didn't have any other pillows. Normally pillow are not a big deal, but they were way to firm. The breakfast on the weekend didn't start till 7:30 (6:30 weekdays) and that is to late, several people were waiting. Parking can be a bit tough, the upper lot can handle bigger vehicles the garage can't handle but it fills up fast.
