“A wonderful place”
Keep in mind that this restored villa is not in the heart of Rome. It's in a semi-rural agricultural area and is only accessable by car or train. However, pick up at the train station is quick and convenient.
“Highly Recommend”
Hotel is located just 15 minutes train ride from the centre of Rome, so excellent for site seeing, then a calm quite relax away from the hussell and bussell. Staff at the hotel were excellent helping in anyway possible. The free shuttle to and from the station, just the made the hotel perfect. We had a lovely few days.
“A magnificent holiday at Pietra di Ponente”
If you are looking for a holiday to remember, then look no further. This place is a hidden secret up in the hills of Ciampino with breath taking views of Rome. It's not just that that makes this place unique, its the true hospitable, genuine & passionate owners and staff that makes this hotel so special. i would also recommend you eating at the pietra di ponente, it's a simple and wholesome menu. If you get a chance you should eat out locally, you will be spoilt for choice. The quality of food & wine is of such high standard. One restaurant that stands out in our mind is La Cavola and one word i did learn to discribe their food was ottimo (excellent)! We had an amazing time here and i will definiately be visiting is glorious place again.
“Superb for an overnight stop in Rome”
Excellent hotel with superb service - especially for young families. The free shuttle service was especially useful for both Ciampino station and the airport. Would definitely go again.
“What a place!!!!!!!!”
Fantastic hotel with excellent service. The staff couldn't have done more for us. The courtesy shuttle to and from the station, airport and even restaurant was fantastic. A very warm welcome is give to all guests and we would definitely go back.
“Fantastic Hotel, Location perfect for Airport & a 15 minute train ride to Roma Termini”
We stayed here for 3 nights departing today June 29th 2009. Everything about this place was great from the quality of the hotel building and the rooms through to the breakfast. There are 3 small tables which are used for a restaurant in the evening which seems small but nice (we didn't use this as we ate out each night). Only small things we would like to see in future is pool of some description which the staff did hint might happen one day and possibly more initiative to cater for guests like foods and snacks throughout the day if you happen to want something as nothing other than drinks were available. The drivers on the streets around this area make it very unsafe to walk as there are no pavements/sidewalks and they are pretty crazy drivers. All in all a great place we higly recommend and a free courtesy shuttle bus to and from the airprot, train station and local restaurant make things so relaxed.
“Ideal Honeymoon Stopover”
We stayed at the Residenza D Epoca Pietra di Ponente for the last two nights of our honeymoon. It is a beautiful small hotel about 10 minutes drive from Ciampiano Town and Airport. First impressions of the hotel is a wonderfully restored farmhouse set in immaculate grounds. The staff whilst small, it seems every staff member has two or three jobs, are extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms are well set out and very comfortable with gorgeous views over the surrounding countryside. Breakfast is continental and very tasty, some of the best ham we have ever tasted. Dinner was exceptional, local cuisine cooked beautifully, three courses for two with coffee and wine for less than 50 euros. The only issue with this wonderful hotel is finding it. If arriving by car, you will either reqire a very good map or satnav. It is expensive to get to by taxi, however the hotel do run a free shuttle service to the airport and station, so if you are arriving at the airport make sure you have the telephone number with you. We will certainly be using this hotel again and are planning to stay there for the first and last night of our trip next year, when we tour Italy by train. This place is a gem.
“Would love to go back for longer!”
Very clean, very comfortable country inn. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner. The service was fast, efficient and they went out of the way to take care of us. (arranged a shuttle to the airport for a very early flight) Quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Rome yet has easy access with frequent trains.
“Great Stay!”
We stayed there for 4 nights with 2 children ages 4 and 6. Once we got there from FCO it was great. The hotel drove us to the train station in Ciampino everyday and picked us up. Breakfast was good and the dinner was awesome! If you fly to CIA airport it would be the perfect hotel. Flying to FCO requires either a shuttle or taxi service which is kinda pricey. You can take the train from FCO to Roma Termini and then get another train Ciampino but with bags and kids we didn't attempt it.
