“Brilliant location and friendly service”

We stayed for Christmas and New Year and found the hotel to be exactly what we wanted. The pool, although small, is perfect for cooling off as the swimming area at 4 Mile Beach was full of seaweed and not looking its best. Our room was spacious and although our balcony was facing the main street we never heard any noise. The location was perfect for us as we didn't want the hassle of getting shuttle buses from a resort to get into town. This was especially good on New Years Eve when we able to stroll back to our apartment after the fireworks instead of joining the queues to get on the buses! The kitchen is very well equipped but we did not use it much as it was easier to just walk down the stairs and choose from the amazing range of restaurants and pubs that are within walking distance. The couple who managed the apartments were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. They arranged our transport from/to the airport and one of our trips. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for central accommodation in Port Douglas. Stayed December 2011/ January 2012, travelled as a couple

“Excellent”

This hotel isn't really a hotel, it's an apartment so your room isn't maintained daily except on request, but that suited me completely. It's as central as can be in Port Douglas which is excellent for getting around, it's a quiet town so it wasn't noisy at night despite its location. All together a lovely place to stay with a lovely large bed and everything you'd need.

“Beatiful people Beatiful part of the world”

Upon arriving we met Gordon and Rae,very friendly couple who let us choose from several rooms that were available. The room was private, comfortable, and well set out. The undercover parking was appreciated when the odd shower would roll through, and is also a quick and dry entry point to the Hot Pot diner (great food) next door in Grant St. The pool and it's lovely surrounds was well maintained and most refreshing. Location is brilliant, a walk to the marina or the beach takes less than five minutes. We will be staying here on our next trip to PD. and can definately recommend Le Cher.

“Tropical Comfort”

My room was spacious, attractively, neutrally decorated, with plenty of windows and lots of light. It was divided into three zones; the first was the bathroom, which had a bath (shower over) and which was very welcome - it seems not many Australian hotels have baths. The second zone was the sleeping area, shuttered apart from the rest of the room, with a large wardrobe and huge, comfortable bed. This zone is airconditioned - very welcome given that Port Douglas was 25 degrees and humid at night while I was there. The last area was the living area, with a kitchenette, a balcony, a table with four chairs, and a sofa. There was a television that pivots between the sleeping area and the living area. The hotel itself is located very centrally in Port Douglas, and has its own underground car park. The only negatives are that the common areas of the hotel look tired, and that there is no lift - and a lift would be very welcome as the hotel is split over at least four levels.

“Delightful, indeed it is Le Cher du Monde”

This is a absolutely delightful hotel (serviced apartment). The rooms are immaculate, very roomy and everything works perfectly. The owners of the complex are on sight and are extremely helpful in providing service and arranging tours of the various locations. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
