“Perfect Location with a very helpful staff”

The location is just perfect for me. The ocean views from the room are priceless. If you have a chance get the penthouse its well worth the money. If you have a deluxe ocean view room make sure you get it on 3rd or 4th floor because power lines block your view quite a bit if not. The food is amazing, and also the owner is really helpful and funny guy well knowledgeable about everything in area. I loved going for walks along the beach only 15 min walk to patong beach with ocean there you forget you are walking. They also rent motorbikes make sure do drive up the coast to surin beach wow picture perfect place. Orchid hotel is away from all the madness of patong beach but close enough for 55 minute motorbike ride. I stayed for about 2 weeks and couldnt of picked a better place. Price was not bad all very very reasonable

“Would Happily Go Back”

Not having been to Patong before didnt really know what to expect. We are a couple, late 20's and wanting to stay away from the general noise and bars..... this was perfect for us. Far enough away to have quiet times, but close enough to enjoy everything Patong offers. We rented a bike from the hotel and checked out the whole region. Headed into town on the evenings we needed and got back without a problem. The hotel itself has very friendly and helpful staff. Organised things for us when we needed help. The restaurant food is nice with a mix of thai and european dishes - nothing over the top, just nice honest food at reasonable prices. All hotels have their quirks, this is no different, but for a standard hotel with a small friendly feel and on a budget, you cant go wrong.

kind people in the reception. We stayed in a doubleroom with an extra bed. We had a nice massage in the hotell. It was me, my husband and our 14 year old son. Nice breakfast.

“An extended weekend stay...”

I stayed here recently for an extended weekend. Anthony, the owner, is usually around and there to make sure everything does run smoothly. I booked late and couldn't get an ocean view room, although he got me a room where I could see the ocean off the side view from my balcony. I could tell from the view outside that those guests who stayed above the third floor on the ocean side had an unobstructed vies of the ocean. My room was over the lobby and my balcony was above the cafe; although I never heard any noise from either of them. My room was decently equipped and featured a canopy bed. I was given very slightly torn sheets one day. Although I suspect this was because my room was cleaned well after all others; due to me being sick. There were some cobwebs up along the top corners of the walls and the shower was a bit dingy. However, the A/C & everything else worked and the roomwas quite pleasant to be in. I had a friend staying in the room next door. While their room was smaller, it was just as pleasant and everything worked fine. The hotel itself is older but comfortable and has plenty of character. The food from the cafe is good and a value. The pool and spa area are small but nice. I will say that if you're not a swimmer than the pool is not for you. There is no shallow area and it is 1.9M/6.2' deep. The hotel is far enough away from the hustle and bustle. A 20-30 minute brisk walk or 200Baht tuk tuk ride is required to get to Bangla Road.

“Great value for money”

My Fiance and I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are four options for breakfast each morning- eggs on toast, fruit etc. We booked our tours through the hotel which seemed very reasonable. We caught a shuttle from the airport for 150 baht each and they dropped us right to the hotel without a hitch, although they will try to sell you tours on your way for double the price so just say no and book through the hotel. Location was great- away from the busy centre but only a 15 min walk or a 200 baht tuk tuk to town. All in all a great stay in Phuket!

“Orful hotel”

We have holidayed in the phuket several times and most recently from the 12 th December until the 28thdecember 2011 we holidayed in three separate areas staying at 3 different hotels-the last of which was the Orchid.We found the staff at this hotel unusually unhelpful. Breakfasts were the worst of any hotel that we had stayed at.I hired a hotel motorbike that subsequently broke down and even though I had filled it with petrol and requested a different motorcyle I was basically told it was too bad and I would need to refill the next motorbike as well.We made a simple request to be allowed to check out a little later than the mid day check out only to be informed that we would be charged extra.The pool chairs and pooll area are in a state of disrepair.We were charged for water bottles.The airconditioner was so noisy that we had difficulty sleeping. Given location, state of the hotel and poor service we ound this hotel extremely expensive.
