“Great hotel for the money...would stay there again next time”

I booked this hotel looking for a reasonably priced hotel based on previous comments and everything was as positive as the comments had suggested. I wanted to be able to leave my bags while out for the day upon checkout and they gladly stored them for me until that evening. There was also no waiting for checking in and getting the room. I chose this hotel because of so many negative comments about other hotels, and I am glad I did.

“ideal location”

A spotless hotel, fantastic staff and a good breakfast. Set in the heart of Monmatre and near the bus and metro stations. Quirky, and with no bar, but no problem as bars within a few metres. We will be going back!!

“Will go again”

Our stay at the Hotel Clauzel was great, I was extremely please with the service. The hotel is fantastic for the price, small rooms but perfect if you’re just using it as a place to sleep and wash. The bathroom is small but the power shower was top class, the rooms are cleaned every day and the TV is ok for the evenings. The location is unbelievable, nice restaurants about 5 mins away; The Italian around the corner has good tasty food and friendly staff. The location is also perfect for metro stops and the nearest one is Notre-Dame De-lotrtte which is a straight walk to the hotel. Also you can walk to the shopping centre which is about 10 mins way. The area looks and feels safe, but you will see the odd person around, (but you will get that anywhere is Paris)

“This is our 4th stay bringing different friends with us each time.”

This is our fourth time to paris for three night stays,as allways our base was the Hotel Clauzal,as we like the location and convenience for Metro stations. The area is good for bars eating houses and local shops,it feels we are in Paris and not in tourist city,as you mix with the locals when eating out and having a drink. The ride into Central Paris is easy on the Metro and takes no time at all.

“Good quality budget hotel.”

The hotel is well positioned for exploring Paris and benifits from local shops, Bars etc. The staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. Room wasslightly dated but clean and in good condition with a comfortable bed.The only downside was the room was quite noisy from late night revellers. But the weary traveller should have no problems sleeping.

“Perfect For A Cheap Stay”

I went with my husband and 14yo sister in December 2011. The room was as requested, a double and single bed. The room and shower area were clean and a good size. Yes it's not the Ritz (the wallpaper needs updating) but for the price you can't complain. It's close to Piagalle and Saint Martin Metro so travel is easy. We went during low season so it maybe different in Summer, the streets were busy with locals but the noise was fine. I'd recommend you organise your travel plans beforehand as the Tourist Information section isn't great anywhere in Paris. Also there's 3 amazing Patessieries close by so get breakfast there- yum!

“Good rate for the location”

Hotel is an easy walk to Sacre Cour and Montmatre. You can also walk to the main sights in Paris in about 15-20mins (or just get the Metro). The street its located on has some great cheese, fish, bakeries and fresh produce and a supermarket so its quite convenient to grab breakfast, lunch or a snack. There is a lift in the hotel but its quite small so stairs are the way to go (expected). The room is small that but was fine given we were hardly in there (expected).

“Passably pleasant”

Great location and fantastic view of the basilica sacre cure. Comfortable room but reception had limited English at our late arrival time. Great location for one of the cheaper places we could find in Paris.

“Nothing fancy, but a great neighborhood”

This hotel was on super sale when I booked it, and some of the reviews made me a bit nervous, but all I really needed was a place to sleep so I wasn't too concerned and decided to book anyway. The hotel is in Montmarte, a really cool neighborhood near the Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, etc. The staff was friendly and spoke English to us when we were polite enough to attempt French. The continental breakfast was nothing special, but the bakery across the street had the BEST BREAD EVER...it was goat cheese (chevre) and raison...one euro a loaf and one of the best things i ate there. All in all, the hotel was fine and served our purpose. They were doing some renovations on the floor we were staying on which kind of made everything smell like paint, but we were never there during the day long enough to be bothered by it. It wouldn't stop me from staying there again.
