Our son is in LawSchool in NY and lives on Fulton, a few blocks from The Gild Hotel. We always stay there when we are in NY visiting him. Clean, good service and very comfortable. Away from the noisey hustle, so getting a good nights sleep is always a plus.

My wife and I are tour operators and hospitality InnKeepers. We always spend 4 to 6 nights a year in New York City. Half the fun is finding new and unique properties. This one ended up being perfect for our needs. Felice (the Restaurant) on sight also is terrific. Gild Hall has a very efficient staff and the rooms are wonderfull and quiet. They also have health/exercise rooms.A great downtown hotel.

“Great Weekend Getaway - convenient to everything”

We can't say enough good things about this place - large room by NYC standards. Very convenient to ALL subway lines (we saw a Nets game in Brooklyn and a show in Times Square and did not need to sit in traffic in an expensive taxi). Best happy hour in hotel - cheap and delicious. The restaurant is not owned by the hotel, which may explain why it is the very best hotel restaurant my husband and I have visited. Named Felice - it was terrific and the service lovely and professional. Definitely will recommend and visit again. What a wonderful romantic getaway it was.

I really don't know what the negative comments are all about, I guess there's no pleasing some people. We found this hotel to be charming and delightful. I travel considerably for work and pleasure and I must say that I've never slept on a more comfortable bed! The hotel was a real value, but worth every penny. We would not hesitate to stay here in future and I am intrigued by the other Thompson Hotels in the group. Was not aware they even existed before this stay. A nice place to stay in downtown, a little removed from the chaos of Times Square, but with plenty of interesting attractions and accessible to anywhere one would want to go in Manhattan.

Excellent hotel and the bar and restaurant were amazing. I have been staying in NY (Downtown) for 3 years and wish I would have found this hotel sooner!!

“Nice little hotel in the business center of Big Ap”

First off,the hotel is located in a very interesting part of New York City,which I think should be in and of itself a reason to stay there and explore what once was the old city. Subway connections is excellent and literally around the corner from the hotel.I already said about other aspects of the hotel,so It's truly an excellent choice.
