“Nice Hotel With Lots of Security”
The hotel is quite impressive. The rooms are roomy and the bathrooms are large with separate shower and tub. But, the hotel must be fairly old, because the faucets and tile floor seemed to need a good cleaning. The towels were big and fluffy and the sheets were nice. There are lots of channels on the television, which is good if you spend time in the room. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and there are lots of them. Three young women open the doors for you in the lobby and at least one, maybe two, summon the elevator for you on the ground floor. There is a lot of security and a screening for explosives and drugs, which seems to be common in the area surrounding the hotel (screening is common). The hotel has the most awesome breakfast buffet I have ever seen. There are stations where you can get Asian food, Western food, eggs cooked to order, fresh fruits, cereals, waffles, French toast, breads, sausage, bacon, juices, yogurt and yogurt drinks, coffee, and tea. If I were going to Manila again, I would probably stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, I will not be going back to Manila.
“Luxury to the max”
Best hotel in Manila by far. The reception, service, comfort with elegance was amazing. The grandeur and decor was spectacular. Everything made it a memorable experience even for the price. An already planning on my return.
“Everything great, just don't take their taxi!!”
The hotel itself is great. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, and the concierge sorted everything out for us, and the bedroom was a good size and the bed was fantastically comfortable. My only complaint was that we booked a taxi to get to the airport as we were leaving early in the morning, and I saw they were going to charge us 2,800peso for the transfer (over $50), when any other taxi costs 400!! They literally wanted 7x the money, just for a car to the airport. It's not as if the car they had ready for us - it was a small saloon which didn't even fit our surfboards, so in the end I hailed a large cab anyway and cancelled the transfer. The cheek of it!!
“Makati Shangri-La”
2 days I get calls waking me up to clean the room despite staff seeing the DND light. The second day I asked that they actually respect the DND and was happy that I didn't get more calls.
“Great hotel”
We will return
“Good stay”
Good one
“The Shangri-La name says it all”
The Makati Shangri-La is the perfect hotel for the discerning traveler. It's a true five-star and has all you need. We stayed in a suite and couldn't be happier. It was roomy with a huge bath. The bed was top-notch. I used the concierge service a couple of times with nothing but great assistance provided. While the security gets a bit old, it's appreciated. I felt safe. The pool area was nice. There's a lap lane and kid's area. I had a meal pool-side and was pleasantly surprised. It is geared towards business travelers but, pay that no mind, it's a Shangri-La and lives up to the name.
“I Shall Return!”
Simply put, ASTOUNDING!
“My Favorite Hotel "The Shang"”
REPOST - From the time I left the US (Washington, DC) till I set foot in my hotel room, overall it went extremely well. The Shangri-la staff at the airport car service were on time to me in the arrival area. They were courteous and attentive. I couldn't say more...one thing for sure on my next trip to Manila, I will defnitely book at the Shangri-la Hotel again. Actually, this has been my favorite hotel. Yes, it is pricey compared to the other hotels in the area, but with the quality of service, the ambience and the hospitality given by the staff...it was well worth it!!!
“Makati Shangri-la best hotel ever!!”
Makati Shangri-la is one of the best hotel ever I saty in with confort room and quality of service and very professional staff where you make you feel like VIP in every matter you ask..................
