“Reasonably Priced Near Paddington Station”

The hotel was conveniently located near Paddington Station and was reasonably priced. The room was small, but was clean and nicely maintained.

“Great Hotel!”

Great hotel if it is not to hot outside and at night, rooms small but very clean and well groomed, great location for tourist. It is close to Pattington Rail and Substation. Rate were good.

“Stay at Quality Crown Hyde Park Mate”

If you arrive at Heathrow Airport, take Heathrow Express to Paddington Station and walk ten minutes to Hotel. Safe area for all to walk solo. The room was clean (a bit narrow), but fine. They provide usual amenities; shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, and alot of instant coffee and tea! The little package of graham crackers are tasty. The barkeep was king enough to give me a couple of extra packs, yumm. Went to lobby 4 AM ish (still on USA time), and desk clerk gave me two Butter Croissants. The breakfast in the dining area is delicious, I recommend.

Getting there

If you arrive after 5:00 pm U. K., time don't allow Heathrow Express clerks to talk you into buying tickets for the tube. All you need is the round trip ticket for Heathrow Express. If you stay more than one night buy your tube tickets day you plan to use the tube. The money exchage is in their favor so be a bit frugal when possible.

“Close to Paddington”

Good price for a hotel that is convenient if you are overnighting before going to Heathrow. Do not spend a lot of time here - the rooms are closet size

“Only good because of its location.”

The hotel is definetly not a 4 star hotel. Reading guest reviews at the signbook was depressing to say the least. The linens were not changed in a week stay.

“You get what you pay for”

The hotel was a little small, but was very reasonably priced. For the convenience of the location to mass transit, there is little that would have made it more conveniently located. A warning to future travelers, the hotel staff may or may not understand the "do not disturb" sign, and make sure you tell multiple people at the hotel about a wake up call if you need it. Otherwise, a satisfactory stay in a convenient location with plenty of good food and spirits in the local area.

Area recommendations

Victoria station is one stop away and is quite good for shopping and theater. Highly recommend it for a little shopping time. Of course, don't forget to go to London Bridge area.

Traveller's tip

Off peak time starts at 4PM on the dot. If you get an off-peak Underground pass, make sure to be in the system before then or risk having to buy a peak ticket on top of the off-peak unlimited card (peak ticket is more expensive than the off-peak unlimited ride).

“London trip”

The beauty about this hotel is is proximity to Paddington Station. I always get the heathrow express when I'm in London which leaves every 20 minutes from Heathrow. 15 pounds - 15 minute journey! Beats a 45 pound / 45 minute taxi fare! I stay in Paddington as I simply walk out of the station and 2 minutes later I'm at the hotel. When i leave it's again 15 minutes to Heathrow. Staff at this hotle are very friendly and helpful. I had to go accross to Paris for 4 nights and left a large bag with hotle even though they were booked on the night of my return and I stayed at another hotel in Paddington.

“Crowded in London”

The location and the staff were very nice. The room however, not so good! No elevator to our side of the hotel, so we had to drag our luggage up and down the stairs. The lighting in the family room very poor and ithe room felt more like a dorm than a 4 star Hotel. The beds (3) were so close we could hardly move within the room, and the mattresses, were very poor. The view was horrible, the roof was all we saw. Way over priced for what we did not get.

Area recommendations

Portabella Road was a pleasent surprise. Lots of cute shops, and a treasure hunters dream.

Traveller's tip

On London Street, the Essex pub is a great local hang out.
