“Pleasantly surprised”

The hotel staff was very friendly - although we arrived early they stored our bags and even put them in our room when it was ready. The rooms were warm because of the summer weather, but our room stayed cool because it was on the top floor and we were able to leave the window open all day. If you stay at this hotel, request a room on an upper floor. This hotel is in a great location (one block from Earls Court Tube station) and is very comfortable for a London hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a budget hotel in a great area that is very clean and used mainly for sleeping. Also, we must not have been given one of the "tiny" rooms we read about - our room had more than enough space for us.

“Great location”

The hotel was great. Just what I needed, and very close to the Earl's Court tube stop. Exit the tube on Earl's Court Road, make a right and then a right on the first street. Go down the block and the hotel is on the left side.

“Second time around”

My family spends a few days in London when we travel to the UK to visit my mother. It's less expensive to book a family room that will sleep three, but there aren't many hotels that offer those accomodations. We've stayed at the London Town twice over the years and have been pleased both times. The price is reasonable (for London) and it's very clean and quiet. By American standards it's a bit sparten (no TV, no pool or amenities, no room internet, no A/C, rather hard beds), but if you need a clean, respectable, well-located, and well-priced place to lay your head after a day's sight-seeing, I highly recommend the London Town.

“Nice, cheap room”

Small but clean and very comfortable room. Convenient to the tube, on the Picadilly Line from Heathrow. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Good breakfast.

“Great location”

As noted in other reviews, the location of this hotel is one of the best things about it - just around the corner from the Earl's Court station and from an area with shops and restaurants. My room had a TV and a hair dryer, and reading lamps by each bed. The bathroom was very small, but no smaller than the bathrooms of many other English hotels and B&Bs in very old building that have been converted. Our rooms were on the ground floor just by the reception desk. It was impossible to shut the doors without a loud slam, so I was woken up a few times by people in nearby rooms. I could also clearly hear the voices of people in other rooms. Since other reviews didn't mention this problem, I would guess that not all the rooms have this problem. Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel - the noise was not a major issue, compared with the great location and good price.

“Absolutely Lovely”

If you're not looking for spaciousness or hip decor, but rather, somewhere quite clean with a very friendly staff, this is it. My room was tiny but warm, my bed comfortable, my water hot. The staff were quite personable and kind. The neighborhood is safe and adorable, and you're a stone's throw from a convenient tube station (Earl's Court), a cheap internet cafe, and a delicious Marks & Spencer SimplyFood posh mini-market. I was a young woman traveling alone, and I never felt uncomfortable. Wonderful!

“Perfect location!!!”

Yes, the rooms are small, but that's European travel and living. The people here are wonderful, especially the girls at reception. They were nice, helpful, and polite - not to mention quite pretty ;-) And you around the corner from a major tube, with several pubs, restaurants, shops, as well. Would definitely return.

“Great Location, Great Service”

The front desk staff were always hospitable and went out of their way to accomodate. Breakfast was minimal (unless you wanted to pay). Rooms are small, as are most in Europe, but clean. It is located a block from the Earls Court tube/train station and has wonderful little cafes all around it. For the traveler who is looking for convenience at a great price, this is your hotel.

“A good short break hotel”

We were only in London for a two night break to attend the Masters Tennis at the Albert Hall. We found the hotel in a good location, comfortable and perfectly adequate for our needs. The small hotel sitting room was great for a cosy night in when we arrived and the rooms, though small, were clean and comfortable.

“Does exactly what it says on the tin”

OK the London Town Hotel isn't a 5 star hotel, but it doesn't claim to be. For what it is it is excellent - the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, location is great, free wireless internet, and comfortable beds. all for a reasonable (for London!) price. wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
