“Good experience, but...”
I really liked the hotel. The service was great. We had a noise problem and were moved to a different room immediately. The food in the restaurant was expensive, but very good. The neighborhood had many good restaurants, pubs, shopping, and public transportation. The shower had good water pressure. The one negative, and it is a big one for me, was how uncomfortable the beds were. They were the softest/oldest mattresses I had ever seen. Looking at the mattress you could see the body print hole in the middle. The mattresses were like this in both rooms so I don't think this is an isolated problem. I was there for a week and my back was killing me each morning.
“overall a nice and relaxing stay”
We stayed for a weekend before moving on to Scotland. The area was nice, quiet, relaxing. It was a bit out of the way from central London, but the Thames Clipper was right behind the hotel and made it easy to get to central London. Easier trip to Greenwich. The indoor pool facility was nice but a little difficult to navigate to, as it was really not a part of the hotel but the hotel guests had access to a separate facility. Children were only allowed in the pool daily from 9am-11am. Food in the hotel was only so-so and a disappointment, especially considering the prices on the menu. Typically when we stay at a FourSeasons, they give our child a toy upon check in. We got a not-so-fresh looking bear in the room which my daughter happily played with. The evening before we were supposed to check out, after housekeeping made up the room, I noticed it was gone. Hmmmm....
“Exactly as you'd expect”
The Four Seasons is renown for it's service worldwide and the one at Canary Wharf is no exception. The staff is extremely friendly. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. They are so thoughtful that they made my daughter a chocolate Easter Bunny (made not bought) on Easter without a request. The only thing I'll say against it is that it isn't very close to downtown. It is still very accessible by Tube or by ferry and it is sometimes nicety be out of the fray.
“I would stay there again”
Room was recently refurbed. Very nice but very small
“A nice business hotel”
I stayed at the Four Seasons Canary Wharf over a long weekend, mostly because it was a good deal for the level of quality and because I wanted to see Canary Wharf. Overall the experience was good. The hotel is high quality, though with finishes and furnishings that feel a little dated. The staff was friendly and helpful; when I asked for a coffee maker they quickly brought one to my room. The concierge was helpful in providing directions as well. The downside of this hotel is that it has a very businesslike feel -- the interiors are definitely not very imaginative. Also, on the weekend that I was there Canary Wharf was difficult to access via any public transportation besides taxis. The Jubilee Line wasn't running, and there were problems with the other lines as well. The DLR was running, but that's not a great alternative. I mostly ended up using taxis to get to central London. All of this is maybe predictable to someone who visits London frequently or lives there, but as an infrequent visitor it was a little bit of a surprise. All in all, though, the Four Seasons staff did a great job and I'd recommend the the hotel to someone who wants to visit that part of the city.
“Three Seasons”
Hotel's decor and facilities are out-dated and worn, which is surprising given our prior experience with Four Seasons. The staff and service are worthy of the brand, but the facilities are badly in need of an upgrade and an update.
“can't wait to go back.”
The hotel and rooms were very nice and large. The food at the Italian restaurant was ok but the chinese restaurant by the pier (close by) was awesome for dinner and dim sum. Canary Harf is very far from central London but there is a great Thames Clipper boat that was able to take us on a scenic route to cenral London.
