What is a historic hotel like in Kyoto?
A historic hotel gives guests the chance to stay in a place officially recognised with a historic designation. These types of hotels in Kyoto usually retain original characteristics like traditional architecture and period features within the guestrooms or public spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
The two are similar. “Historic hotel” is a term often used in the US, while “heritage hotel” is often used in Asia and Europe. When you book a historic hotel in Kyoto, it doesn’t mean you will stay in a place that’s rundown or uncomfortable for guests.
