“Want a safe, ideally located and small hotel providing individual and high grade service?”
Then the Niles is for you. The Reception staff greet you by name, are there to help you with any questions and made local calls for me for my planned excursions. The lobby area is wonderful, atmospheric and serves free tea throughout the day. Classic music is usally playing and you get a much bigger feel than this hotel actually is. The roof terrace, where breakfast is served, is really pleasant and a lovely way to start your day. The simply but adequate buffet and fresh breads make a good foundation for walking this city. I found the location 5 minutes walk from the tram stop and in the local clothing manufacturing area fantastic but only 10 minutes from all of the important historic sites. Only complaint, the room was small and a little uncomfortable when not in bed, but otherwise a great stay for a short city visit. I also trusted all the restaurant recommendations given by the hotel and was not disappointed!
“fine”
This hotel was fine, clean and safe. Nice roof deck with views of the water. The best thing about this place is the fabulous front desk staff!!!
“Lovely stay in a friendly hotel”
We stayed with our 9 year son at the Niles Hotel during the second week of Sept. After reading all the good reviews about the place we decided to give it a go. We were NOT disappointed. The staff were very attentive and made every effort to make us feel as comfortable and at home as possible. The hotel is 2 mins walk from the tram station/old bazaar and 20 minutes from Sultanahmet by foot. We walked everywhere. And for the price, you really cant go wrong. I would definetely reccommend this hotel.
“Best breakfast yet!”
The Hotel Niles has -- by far! -- the best breakfast bar I've ever had in 40 years of travel! Note: construction was going on next door while I was there (March 2009), but very good value otherwise. All major sites easy walking distance, great service.
“Helpful and a homely touch”
The Niles Hotel, Istanbul is well located and has such helpful staff. It has that homely touch that most hotels just do not offer. I would definitely recommend it for a great stay. The staff were more than happy to book trips for you, offer advice and check that you were completely happy with your stay and enjoying your holiday.
“Good value for money. Love the rooftop terrace.”
I love the hospitality of Turkish people, you are made to feel like a quest in their country not just a tourist. The hotel staff are friendly spoke excellent english and were very helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean (not such a great view form bedroom window but the terrace made up for it). Hotel Niles is ideally located for exploring the wonderful city of Istanbul, close to the tram and with easy walking distance to Sultanhmet. We booked this hotel purely on other reviews and we were not dissappointed.
“Great location, great staff”
Hotels at this price point are generally acceptable in terms of comfort, but Niles goes well beyond what one might expect. The staff are all incredibly helpful and kind. Rarely do I feel I actually made friends with hotel staff, but this is the case with Niles. I will be definitely be back!
“Nice place to stay”
We chose Hotel Niles because of the good reviews, and yes we were not disappointed. Everyone in the hotel is helpful and friendly. The rooms are small but super clean! It is indeed very close to the good spots, so we just walked or used the tram. We will definitely choose the same place the next time we visit Istanbul.
“one of the most friendly hotels we have ever stayed in”
i would go back to the Niles next time in Istanbul. It was perfect for the three days we were there. We hadnt been to Istanbul for almost 25years and the Niles reminded us of all that is best about Turkish hospitality. A very friendly and very comfortable budget hotel. Great breakfast on the lovely roof terrace. All of the staff go out of their way to make the visitor feel welcome. If you want a boring chain hotel that could be anywhere in the world go to Taksim. If you want traditional Turkish hospitality in the heart of old Istanbul this is the hotel for you.
“Nothing but smiles from Niles”
We had a great stay at the Niles Hotel in Istanbul. The hotel is very charming and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop terrace for complimentary morning breakfast and afternoon turkish tea. The grand bazaar is extremely close by which is great if it's a stop on your list but a little bothersome if you don't want to be haggled by street vendors going to and from the hotel. Other than that i couldn't recommend the place enough.
