“Will go again”
The hotel is located near all attractions. The room was little small but we spent all the time outside. The staff are very helpful.
“More than I expected”
The hotel staff provide a 5 star service to the hotel guests and makes sure that they are taken care of. They are very welcoming and very hospitable. We arrived at the hotel in the morning and they offered us hot drinks and breakfast right away, and they took care of our baggage. They also arranged airport transport and a wake up call. Location is great, not far from the top sites. Quiet neighborhood.
“friendly staff, fantastic location..”
very convienent location, friendly staff; but breakfast - just average, food not fresh, re-served from the fridge on the other morning; there were problems with AC - heating is not working, so I wouldn't recommend to stay here during a cold season... beware to be overcharged during check-out - they've tried to charge me for a phone I've never used... do not go to cafe next door Why not - very overpriced...
“Istanbul 11”
The New Pelda hotel was average, the rooms were fairly small and the bathrooms even smaller (I had the superior room overlooking the bosphorous so it was the best room at the hotel). Having said that the rooms were clean and staff friendly and helpful. The location was great as it was a short walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Although one does get woken up at 5am for the call to prayer everyday. I highly recommend going across to the tea houses which are close by...one of them is next to the tram station closest to the hotel i.e. 'Cemberilitas'. Also the full day cruise was great. Definitely go to Taksim Square at night...shops are open everyday till late night.....we were there till 11pm and all the stores were open. Also recommend that you go to Topkapi and Hagia Sofia early to beat the crowds and do note that some of the monuments are closed on certain days.
“disappointing”
Even though the staff were quite accomodating, the overall condition of this hotel is not good. It is in desperate need of refurbishment and also the overall cleanliness was not satisfactory. Breakfast was not great either. However, the price is quite low and hotels in Istanbul are not cheap. As long as you are prepared for all the the above, travellers may find it OK given the price, but we would not choose to stay there again any time soon. On the positive side, the location is brilliant and the staff are very helpful. The view from the breakfast room was also wonderful. One thing they need to improve quite urgently -at least- is the level of cleanliness, we found hair on the bedsheets on the first room we were given and in general bathroom and rooms could have been cleaner.
