“Excellent hotel by Taksim Square”
I was there in May 2011 for 4 days. This hotel is very clean, located amidst conveniences such as a foreign exchange place. It is right by Taksim Sq. but not in a noisy locale. Excellent English-speaking staff at front desk. Took good care of my friend who incidentally tore his ligament on the trip. The room was very comfortable and clean.
“Be careful - definitely over priced”
You can find a lot better places for the price. Best Western Taxim is right across the road and much much better in every sense. Wouldn't stay here again.
“Not a 4 star hotel”
We stayed over Christmas week on the 5th floor. The room was small and hotel staff was less than helpful. The room was clean but there was no air conditioning to offset the central heat. The TV appeared to be a 17 inch screen. Wi-fi signal was weak and continuous internet communication is not possible. The breakfest buffet was very expensive ~$20 per person. The area is full of men that are constantly annoying tourists with business propositions. This hotel is a marginal 3 star and is not a 4 star establishment
“Incompetent Hotel Staff”
The interpersonal skills of the hotel staff are lacking severely. Never, in my world travels to over 33 countries, have I experienced harassment or combativeness by hotel staff until now. They were rude to my guests and could not locate a package shipped to the hotel although a member of the staff signed for the delivery. Moreover, the facilities are in need of maintenance. In the gym, two pieces of equipment were unusable; they were hazardous in fact. I would not recommend this hotel for any type of travel, business or leisure.
