“Great hotel, Not so great location”

The Holiday Inn was a very nice property, but is not really centrally located (Taksim Square is a 30 minute walk from the hotel).. But if you want a four/five star hotel experience, then the Holiday Inn Sisli is a good choice.

“The pillows were wonderful!”

The rooms were nice, service was good, though they didn't have change to smaller bills. Breakfast in the hotel is spendy, but there are several groceries, bakeries and a Migos close by.

Area recommendations
Taxim square. It is just across the river from all the sites, close to the Metro and full of life. Istiqual street, just off of Taxim square is lit up at night and people are strolling up and down well into the night. So pleasant.
Getting around
We took the Metro from the Airport. Getting tokens was tricky because the machine had a difficult time taking the L5 or L10. Be persistent. Push the button twice for two tokens (two people). It's the same price no matter where you want to go on that line. It was a long trip in but we were able to see most of the famous sites as we rode by. Using a taxi is a lot quicker, a little more costly, but not bad. We used a taxi most of the time.
