“Very friendly small hotel in excellent location”
We were very impressed with the welcome and general friendliness we received while staying at this hotel. We had booked a standard double room, but it was very small so we asked for an ugrade, and we were given a triple room which was much more spacious. The breakfast was very good and kept us going all day. The hotel is 5 mins from Gulhane tram station. Try to book your flight to Attaturk airport rather than Sabha Grochen as it is much nearer and cheaper to get to. Beware of the shoe cleaners who are up to every trick in the book to con you, one of their tricks is to drop a shoe brush on the ground you then pick it up and they clean your shoes as a thank you but still demand money! Overall we had a good stay for 5 nights although it was much colder than in England! There is plenty to do and we didnt have time to see everything. Whenever we arrived back at the hotel we were offered tea and coffee and when we left we were give a present of Turkish Delight! If you want a small family run hotel then this is for you.
“Great budget hotel”
The Adora is an excellent budget hotel. Rooms are pretty standard for a 3-star hotel - no baths in the en-suite bathrooms but you'll probably get lots of use from the spacious showers. They also offer free broadband for your wireless device. It's in a great location for access to the main tourist sites - the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi palace are all within a few minutes walk, as are the ferry terminals for access to the northern and Asiatic parts of Istanbul. Want easy access to the main city centre? No worries, the tram stop is literally a minute's walk away. There is also a street with lots of reasonably priced restaurants just a couple of minutes walk away. The staff were friendly and polite, and always willing to help with advice or problems. My only small caveat: this is a fairly small hotel so not really suited to large groups such as stag parties or travelling football supporters.
“Outstanding hospitality from hotel staff”
Room was on the small side, but clean as was the bathroom. Pillows and bed were comfortable and had no problems sleeping. Television was disappointing as not many english channels available. Continental style breakfast was good, with wide variety to choose from. Hotel resturant was also good. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful with all our needs including information on site seeing tours and places to dine.
“Nice hotel in the middle of Sultanahmet”
Very clean hotel in the middle of the historic district (easy walking to the Blue Mosque, Spice Market, Galata Bridge, etc). It's right off the tram route which is convenient; you can hear all of them go by if the window is open. I did find that if you closed the window, no sounds came in. It's not too close to that many mosques, so if you like to hear the call to prayer at all hours of the day, it's not the best spot. (They sound pretty at 2pm, but not so much at 4-5 am.) The staff is very helpful and spoke solid english. They even helped me get my 45 pound bag to the tram.
“Great Stay”
We stayed at this hotel for five nights while visiting Istanbul. It has a great location. It is on the edge of the "touristy Sultanahmet" part of town. It was nice to be close to everything, but also be slightly removed from the chaos of other tourists. It is a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and Grand Bazare. Galata Tower is also within walking distance. Public transport is also very accessible (ferry, tram, subway, taxis etc.). The hotel is nice. It is not that fancy, but for the price one should not expect luxury accommodations. The staff was incredibly friendly. Erdi, Mustafa, and Burhon were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the stay. They allowed us to check-in early after a long overnight flight. An upgraded room at no additional charge was provided. They took care of everything. They even had a birthday cake waiting for me when I returned from dinner. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend staying here while visiting Istanbul.
“Perfect stay in historic part of Istanbul”
Our family of 3 had an outstanding stay at the Adora, which is only 5-10 minutes walk to the major attractions in Istanbul and only a few minutes any direction to great places to eat or shop. The hotel is directly on the tramline. Service was terrific, Erdi and Hasan were very helpful and even gave us tips that were not in the travel books. Breakfasts were great, but we didn't hang around there during days or evenings to have other meals.
“Adorable Adora”
Excellent value for money. Superb location. Cosy, hospitable atmosphere. Exceptionally friendly and professional staff makes you to feel at home, and wantIng to revisit the place. Rooms not large but very clean, well maintained, and quite comfortable. Generous breakfests. Sitting at a table of Adora's front cafe, and watching the street life while being served by the welcoming staff, is a unique experience almost as attractive as anything else that this fascinating city can offer. Five out of five on almost all counts. Highly recommended for any budget traveller.

“Small budget hotel close to main attractions”
The Adora is a small friendly hotel which is just off the main street leading to Topkapi Palace, Aghia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. Although the trams run up and down the main street you cannot really hear them from the hotel bedrooms which were peaceful. Our bed was firmer than we would have liked. There was a good selection of food at breakfast. Different kinds of breads, eggs, Turkish-style sausage, cereals, fruit juices, jams, Kona coffee and Turkish tea. The menu for lunch/dinner wasn't very inspiring, but with so many restaurants and lokantas on the doorstep you didn't need to eat at the hotel. The staff were lovely and went our of their way to help us. Very helpful in terms of tours and local information.
