“True 5 star accommodation.”

The hotel is located in Mong Kok, which is a touch removed from the usual Hong Kong tourist areas. Having said that, it is situated above a large shopping mall with easy access to an MTR station. The hotel itself is superb. We stayed in a room which included the Club L package. This means that you have separate check in and the Club L lounge is situated on the 36th floor. You can pop in at any time to have a drink or snack and relax after a hard days sightseeing or before you go out at night. The hotel staff were wonderful to my 8 y.o. son. They also left a cake in our room for my wife's birthday. The breakfast spread in The Place is amazing; the variety of cuisines on offer is very impressive and there's even a chocolate fountain! The Ming Court restaurant is worthy of its 2 Michelin stars. Pool and spa are great and there's a fully equipped gym. Cannot recommend the Langham Place Hotel highly enough.

Area recommendations
Staying in Mong Kok was one of the highlights of the trip for us as you get a feel for the "real" Hong Kong. The Ladies Market is nearby and the streets at night are filled with people, colour and life. There's a great wet market just behind the hotel where you can see everything edible for sale, including live frogs and turtles. At 468 Shanghai Street there's a traditional eatery selling snake soup; it's delicious - even if it does "taste like chicken". A little further south down Shanghai Street there a numerous stores selling all sorts of cooking utensils and kitchenware. If you're a home cook, you will be in heaven - the prices are up to 2/3 cheaper than in Australia. Whilst there are still a few "massage parlours" in the area, I never felt threatened. There are many people out and about at night, including children, and there is also a police presence. Witnessed some very strange street performers which were fun to watch, even if to a Westerner their performances were a bit trippy. Would much rather stay in Mong Kok than in the more touristy areas in south Kowloon or on Hong Kong island.

“Langham Place in Mongkok, Hong Kong - Visit from Hawaii”

Location location location... Hotel staff was extremely courteous and sincere. The best thing about our stay was the location of the hotel! Attached to one of the nicest shopping centers in Mongkok and also located right above the Mongkok subway station makes this hotel one of the most convenient experiences ever! I must mention that the surrounding restaurants/eateries and stores were some of the most popular too! We will definitely book another stay at this hotel during our annual visits to H.K. Well worth the little extra $$$ to stay here!

Getting there
Just take a Red Cab to the hotel. You will spend anywhere from $250-$300HKD (roughly about $30-$40 US) and it's about 30-45mins from the airport. I would suggest getting some kind of data plan for your smart phone to use the map function and GPS to get around easier. If you have an iPhone check out iphonetrip.com and pick up one of their unlimited sim cards.
Getting around
Just pickup a Octopus card from the metro kiosk and reload it at one of the automated machines if you are planning on using the subway more than a few times. Very convenient. Just swipe and go!
Dining
Little Sheep hot pot restaurant is very popular among the locals. Hui Lau Shan has excellent desserts as well as Home Made Desserts (purple sign). The Dim Sum at any of the restaurants can't be beat! Bubble tea drinks at the corner street side store across from the hotel is awesome and refreshing. Ming's Court makes for a romantic dinner date.
Nightlife
Check out Ladies Street in Mongkok!

“Clean hotel next to a great shopping mall.”

Excellent hotel. No complaints at all, except no free in-room wi-fi. And I did not get a King size bed as requested, but settled for a Queen.

“Not Impresses”

Internet is only good for 1 device. I have 2 computers and 2 ipads which means I will have to pay four times to get them all working. They told me to bring my airport express and my computer to the concierge which I did, waited for 15 mins, and then they said they will send someone to my room and they never show up. On the other hand, I found my lab top cracked while I was out (did not make a complaint because I didn't see the point), my shampoo bottle was broken which they did put the remains in a new jar and apologized. Ordered a morning call and a reminder in 5 mins. The morning call came through but not the reminder. These are the only services I required during my stay and they did not go well. But some of the staff are very cheerful and friendly.

“Location and convenience”

Prime locaction for shopping-connected to a 12 story mall with many shops in surrounding area. A bit pricey-but comfortable. Service was excellent-entire staff accommodates guests. Would book again.

Area recommendations
Monkok is great for shopping and has multiple markets where you can find deals. Lantau for Hong Kong Disney is a must, and if you like a little Vegas-head to Macau island and enjoy.
