“Great location.”

This is an older hotel that has been very well maintained. It has a great location and is right in the middle of all the shoppiing, pubs and restaurants in Kowloon. Another great factor is that because it has been around for decades all the taxi drivers (even outside the Kowloon area) know where it is.

Area recommendations

Kowloon is a great place to stay. Lots of shopping, restaurants and pubs after work. My "significant other" did lots of shopping while I was working. Hotel staff very helpful on everything.

“Perfect location for business in Kowloon”

I did'nt expect the Holiday Inn to offer such an upmarket service. Highly impressed with their ability to deal with travel weary business people. No complaints at all!

“Friendly and helpful”

We were impressed with the convenience of the location, the comfort of the room (particularly the beds) and the friendly, attentive service of the staff. Our seven year-old especially enjoyed the pool and the care given by its attendants. We would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

We traveled in late September and found the weather agreeable with only one rainy period

What to pack

We kept it simple. T shirts, shorts, 3/4 pants, sandals, sneakers. But we didn't look for night life.

Family-friendly activities

“A very good hotel selection from expedia”

My wife and I spent a week at this hotel in April 2011. We stayed in a Deluxe King Room. The service by all hotel staff was absolutely first rate for the whole week, nothing was too much trouble at any time. Our room was comfortable with all modern amenities, it was cleaned and maintained every day to a high standard. Unfortunately we had no view as the building next door was being re-furbished and was cloaked in a giant cover-all. It was also very close. We visited Hari's Bar and The Osteria Restaurant (Italian) on many occasions and found both to be very good. We utilised the Bistro for breakfast every day and it was first class. This hotel is located in the heart of Kowloon and close to everything that a visitor to this area could want. All transport is close, MTR is next door, Star ferry a short walk and airport transfers are to the hotel door. Having visited Hong Kong many times, we have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any traveller looking fer reasonably priced accommodation.

“Very convenient location to transport, shopping and restaurants.”

Staff were helpful, I upgraded to the executive floor which was excellent. I was there on business and hotel was very convenient for taxi access - important in TST at peak hour.

““Great location for shopping or people watching, pricey room."”

“Great location for shopping or people watching, pricey room. A little far from the airport.” Upgraded to a larger room. Was it worth it? Maybe. Free breakfast and evening snack in the executive lounge. Free wi-fi and a great view from the 10th floor. Convenient bus pickup to and from Kowloon Station, but quite a distance from the airport. Impeccable service at the front desk. Good English and a smile made this weary travelers day! Shops "beneath" the hotel very convenient and out of the pressing crowds on the sidewalk. I would stay again, but without the upgrade.

“Will go back again next year”

Everything was as I expected. Having stayed at the Golden Mile previously, I had something to compare this stay with.

I like where the Golden Mile is located as it is in the middle of TST, close to all amenities

Getting there

Getting to the hotel from the airport is now wonderful. Take the Airport Express train to Kowloon Station and from there catch the hotel shuttle (K3 in the case of the Golden Mile). The shuttle runs approx every 20 mins.

“Will always return to this hotel”

I have stayed at this hotel before and enjoy the locality as well as the rooms and staff, great hotel for walking to the markets, also the ferry to HK island and catching the train to Mong Kok

“If hotel location matters then this is the one.”

Good location. Otherwise the public areas of the hotel is extremely crowded. The driveway is frequently closed (both at our check-in and check-out) and we have to move our luggage to the curb/sidewalk. The reception counters are wholly inadequate at check-out. However, the staff tries to make up for this, but they still cannot overcome this disadvantage.

Area recommendations

Hong Kong is a very friendly city to explore. The visitor guide published by the official tourist office lists all the places that are of interest. A branch of the office is conveniently located at the Star Ferry pier near the hotel.
