“Calm side of Hoi-An”
The hotel is on the quiet side of Hoi-An, but just a bridge crossing to get to the center of town with all the shops and restaurants and bars. View over the lake is very nice as well. Would definitly stay there if i go back to Hoi An.
“Lovely”
This is a great place to stay right over the bridge from the Old Town. I had a corner room near the street and thought it would be noisy, but didn't have any problems. Had fresh fruit in my room when I returned each evening and had amazing fresh spring rolls at the restaurant. Disappointingly, it was too cold to use the beautiful pool and apparently the gym was not open during my stay which is one reason I booked the place. The hotel staff suggested a place to have clothes made but I found the staff extremely pushy and went elsewhere. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to my family and friends.
“Perfect experience of Hoi An”
Pho Hoi means "City of Hoi". It is in the perfect position just across one of the main bridges. Once you cross the bridge (about 100 metres) you are right in one of the main shopping areas and at the beginning of the markets. It was such a great location. Quiet, yet in the middle of it all. I booked an Executive bungalow which is about 20m from the rivers edge. At night it is so pretty. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool and its own vegetable garden. It is not flashy and no where near a 5 star resort but rather a quaint hotel experience. It was built in 1992 and the rooms could do with an upgrade but it was perfect for my husband and I. The beds were a little thin and hard, like sleeping on a futon but the whole experience overrode that. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we often exchanged our money at reception as it was safe. We also bought water for 10,000 dong (50 cents) from a vendor directly out the front. We hired bikes for 20,000 dong for the day and rode them all the way to the Bungalow however we were advised to leave them at the front of the resort. There was a wide variety to choose from at breakfast. You have to love the egg station and traditional beef noodle soup. We enjoyed this hotel very much however we were after a very "down to earth - rustic adventure" and this suited us. It was very pretty, green and friendly.
“A comfortable clean hotel but noisy”
Pho Hoi Resort was a comfortable hotel and certainle secure and clean however like all hotels in town itself it was quite noisy so if you are looking for morepeace and quiet, probably best to stay closer to the beach and not in town. The pool and the private beach were great and the breakfast was delish!
“Good value hotel”
We had a room with a balcony with fantastic views over the gardens and river. There was a nice swimming pool which was very clean. It is in a great location just a 5 minute walk over the bridge into the centre of the town and all the bars, restaurants, shops etc. It is a short taxi ride (the hotel will organise this for you)from the lovely beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. This hotel is very good value for money.
“Pho Hoi”
We had an upgraded room which was really appreciated. Staff most helpful.
“Sense of humour required!”
We have had 2 five day stays at this resort over the past 2 years and love the location and views...we have had seperate bungalows both times, so these comments are really only applicable to them. As with any travel in Vietnam, a sense of humour is required! Things arent maintained to Western standards, and I doubt ever will be given the climatic conditions etc. The bungalows are cool, well airconditioned, the beds are like concrete slabs ( as per everywhere in Vietnam!) but the location makes up for all of the little inconveniences. The pool area is great and overlooks the river. Checkin/out is always challenging, but again, that is common with the language differences. All in all, a fantastic place for families, very affordable, private and quiet. Dont worry about eating in the resort, the food is ordinary and there is SO much choice 5 minutes walk away.
“better options out there and cheaper”
The wireless doesn't work on the third floor. The water heater also didn't work, although after a couple of notifications, they came and fixed it. Also, this concept of having to have a printed and signed paper from expedia showing your reservation before you're given a key is a bit extreme. They had my name and details from expedia in their reservation, my passport, my credit card. But it took still a lot of pleading, two trips back from the main reception to the second reception, before they let me get a room. There are cheaper and better options in Hoi An.
“Good situation, near the old town. Very correct hotel for its prices.”

“overpriced hotel”
This hotel is really overpriced for the service that you recieve there. It is a nice hotel, but not worth the high prices. The onsight facilities were nice, such as the swimming pool, and while it would have been nice to stay at the hotel in the bar which has a nice view over the river, we found ourselves leaving the resort due to the fact drinks there cost 5-8x what they did in similar bars within Hoi An town. This is just an example of the overpricing, which we feel overspilt into the room pricing also.
