“Quiet five star comfort close to amenities.”
The InterContinental is well placed, next to Bugis Street shopping and eatery prescinct, and near the Bugis Treet metro station. Staff are helpful and go out of their way to make the stay pleasant. I got a great Expedia deal at this hotel, and it worked well for me. The breakfast buffet is expensive, but there are options in the adjacent airconditioned shopping complex. I am a train person, so the nearby direct link with the airport was both convenient and extremely inexpensive.
“The Club Lounge provides a good value to guests.”
We really like the club lounge, where guests can hang out with generous supply of tasty snacks, beverages and fast internet.
“Pretty good.”
The only real downside that we'd been unprepared for was the $700 taken from each of our credit cards upon arrival. Although we were assured that this would be paid back into our respective accounts within three days of leaving (assuming that we'd left our rooms intact etc.), if we'd not had a credit limit that accommodated this unforeseen cost - albeit temporary - it could have placed a significant dent in our holiday budget. However, apart from that, the service was courteous and if anything was required - in our case an ice bucket and two champagne glasses - it was delivered promptly. Be aware though, that the cheaper rooms don't include extras like private internet access, although I was permitted to use the hotel's business centre free of charge.
“stunning decor”
I stayed at this hotel prior to a conference at a nearby hotel. The Intercontinental was far superior in every way even though the other hotel was more expensive. The Intercontential had elegant, tasteful decor and beautiful rooms with character and grace. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Singapore.
“Quick Jaunt to Singapore”
The hotel was fabulous. For the most part, people were very respectful. Though I am 25, I look about 20 years old. Because of this, I felt I was ignored by certain hotel staff. I am very low maintenance and respectful to people everywhere, especially hotel and restaurant staff. I find that at up-scale hotels, I am frequently judged for my youth and my casual style. I don't appreciate this. I'm a paying hotel guest. I am curteous and I never leave rooms in poor shape. Despite this consistent trend in the nice hotels I stay with, I would stay here again.
“Fantastic stay”
I have almost always stayed on Orchard for convenience. This was the first time I stayed at the intercont and I think this i sthe only hotel I wille ver stay in. Lobby coffee shop is fantastic with some of the best staff I've experienced. Perfect place to hang out and have meetings. If the lobby cafe is expensive for you, you can just walk out to Bugis which is directly connected to the hotel lobby. Fantastic. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Amazing bed and pillows. I did not try the in-room dining, and I did not see a menu in the drawers. Not sure if they have 24/7 in-room dining. Not recommended for Singapore first timers or shopping addicts though. They have no choice but to stay at the orchard. For all others, this is the place to be. Walking distance to Chjmes and Raffles City. Very quick to Funan Center and Boat Quay. Directly connected to Bugis. Highly recommended.
“As expected”
The hotel was very clean and the service was excellent. The hotel is a little old for my liking though. The internet wasn't included in the room charge, which in this day and age, is a little old fashion. This shoud've been included. Luckily I wasn't there for a business purpose. If I was, I wouldn't be happy having to pay extra.
“would definitely stay here again”
We found the staff to be so friendly, helpful & treated us like royalty. The location was very close to major attractions, the room was gorgeous, great views & serviced twice per day. The only let down was the price of the restaurant, having GST as well as a service charge added on, we only had breakfast twice there. The use of the internet in the Business centre, was also expensive, so we only sent few emails to family with updates. Other than that, the staff were excellent & most obliging & willing to help with anything. The decor is gorgeous. Great time, thoroughly enjoyed Singapore, much to see & amazing architecture, old & new.
“dont know if I would recommend the location . Was out of the way for most things”
Hotel was lovely staff very friendly but too expensive to eat in the hotel. The closest shopping mall Bugis was certainly not the best in singapore not offering much to anyone over 25.
“Extreme Indulgence”
Loved everything about this hotel except for the cost of the food - from breakfast to dinner and compared to outside the hotel, it was very expensive. The pool area was well planned and refreshing, the gym (no rowing machine) an excellent workout. My room was spacious and loved the bathroom.
