“Luxurious and Economical”
A lovely hotel with great rooms, balconies, gorgeous lobby and nice pool/bar - extremely good value and helpful staff. Built 2004 in a combination Vietnamese/French style it has good 4-star trimmings but without the impersonal scale of a big chain and without the pretentiousness of a 5-star. A short walk or cyclo ride to the historic old town area. The hotel also has a free shuttle mini-bus to its own beach cafe which gives you the right to lie on their lounges under coconut-leaf umbrellas. Recommended.
“Peaceful!”
We love its location. This hotel owns a stunning view to the paddy field behind and...the town right nearby. From our room, we were interested in observing the neighbour’s cultivation. They look always happy and really friendly. You would love to say Hello to them. Sometimes, we walk to the central town throught the alleys, even it took longer than going by the main road. We found many experiences of the local daylife. It’s quite different to the touristy outside. The other thing is meal. Food is beautiful. The breakfast is more than adequate. The bar located on the terrace where you could escape the mid day heat. The piscine is a great advantage on the warmest days. The staff is amiable and helpful, likes they want to perform the best of Vietnamese culture. They are willing to offer travel advice and respect the guest’s value always. We would come back as soon as we can.
“Great value”
Bathroom had a lot of water on the floor which wasn't the best, but we found similar in a lot of places in vietnam due to poor drainage there. Great value for money hotel though. I would stay there again. Free shuttle to China beach is great also.
“Beware of the Mattress”
Good size rooms and very clean , however the beds have the hardest mattresses I have ever slept on , The hotel is in walking distance of the old quarter but you can get a taxi for about $1 U.S. The buffet breakfast is great and the staff are very attentive. Good value for money
“Great Staff but hotel needs some T.L.C.”
Arrived on a late flight and on arrival at the hotel the hotel computer didn't have any record of our booking. We assumed this was because we had booked 'last minute' from our previous destination earlier the same day and the info hadn't come through. The desk staff were, however, fine about it and we were promptly given a room. Unfortunately the room had a plumbing issue. The bathroom, despite looking quite clean and presentable, smelled like a public toilet and the toilet made weird noises all night and emitted a bad odour even though we weren't actually using it. In the morning, while brushing our teeth we witnessed what was going on with the smelly loo. Each time the upper rooms used their bathroom our toilet gurgled and sprayed all over the bathroom! So, after explaining our problem to the front desk and being introduced to the manager, who was very pleasant and apologetic, we were moved to another, larger room. No problems with the bathroom this time. The staff were at all times helpful and friendly (although the cleaning staff could use a little lesson in maybe not banging and crashing and shouting across the landings very early in the mornings!) A very ornate style, character hotel that just needed a little TLC and maybe slightly softer beds!
“no value for money”
had to go through a mandatory christmass diner where we had to listen to the owners (65 years old lady) try for 5 minutes to sing a french song.
