“Midsummer”
The hotel was really comfortable and clean and the evening buffet was a fantastic additional extra. Due to illness at the start of the trip, we spent more time in the hotel than planned and so we were lucky that the room was so comfortable and that the hotel offered free coffee all day and afternoon tea every afternoon. The staff were really helpful and the location was really useful for the train station and the bus station, while remaining pretty quiet. We would certainly use this hotel again if back in Gothenburg.
“A great place to stay, hands down”
The hotel was very nice, it is located within a few blocks of everything in city centrum. The buffet in the evening had a very nice spread. The breakfast was typical of Swedish hotels, which is an extrodinary spread. All in all, This is a great place which I recommend. The only downfall of the hotel is extremely limited parking.
“Nice, clean, modern & comfortable hotel”
Stayed at this hotel for a weekend. Very modern, clean & pleasant hotel. The reception staff were very helpful & always looked happy to speak to you. They have a free evening buffet from 6pm to 9pm & this was a bonus as we found Gothenburg rather expensive - 8 pounds or 98 swedish korona for a Gin & tonic - so was great that we didnt have to spend money on an evening meal. Within the room there is a little kitchen incorporated in a cupboard. Great idea although it did smell slightly. Beds & generally the whole room was very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning again was ample, scrambled eggs, bacon, selection of ham & cheese, pancakes, bread to toast & cereals. There was also ample tea & coffee from machine which was great after being out enjoying the nightlife of Gothenburg. Mixed selection of people staying in the hotel from couples with children, older couples and 30 somethings. Would recommend to anyone. Hotel is very close to the main bus station to & from airport & main shopping centres so easy to find. Was a good 10 minute walk to the main bars and nightlife area at the Avenue. Would definately stay there again.
“Fantastic Hotel”
This hotel offers fantastic value for money. The food is good with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. I would definitely go back.
“comfortable and convenient”
Just back from three night stay here and I was certainly more impressed than I expected to be. Rooms clean, simple and comfortable. Noise level low, breakfast very good and the complimentary 'light' evening buffet was more of a full meal, but with limited choice. We had the buffet two nights and ate out the last night. Also tea and coffee and fruit available to all guests 24 hrs a day in the reception area. The reception staff were also very pleasant and helpful.
“Good value, I'd go back tomorrow.”
A pleasant & peaceful place to stay. Staff speak flawless English & are friendly & charming. One downside might be the railway station at the rear of the hotel, Swedish triple-glazing makes this no problem in winter(couldn't hear a thing) but if you want your windows open in summer ask for a room at the front! Don't let this put you off.
“Excellent, comfortable hotel”
This is a lovely hotel, and I would advise anybody to stay here. It is in an excellent location close to the railway station which is great for anyone who has never been to Gothenburg before. The hotel has a really welcoming atmosphere. The service was very friendly and efficient, and overall I would advise anybody to book this hotel if they wish to have a comfortable few days in this fine city. My room was comfortable and clean, and it contained most amenities that a family will need. Beware though, the standard of TV channels is not very good if you are an English speaker (I would say the same for Swedish language speakers also!!) although there is plenty else to make up for this and it is pointless to go to Gothenburg to watch a lot of TV!! I had a single room as I was travelling alone. Like most hotels, it is most ideal for couples and/or families. Having said this though, the dining room has an upstairs facility which is ideal if you wish to dine alone away from peering eyes, or if you simply want some peace and quiet. Additionally, there are many tables and chairs for all the family to relax in the hotel's top floor outside area on a warm summer's evening. There is also an exercise room and supermarket within the building. There is a free buffet at both breakfast and evening dinner times for all guests. The choice of food and drink is both healthy and extensive.
“Helpful hotel staff”
One member of our party had a minor health problem which required medical attention. The staff at the hotel were very helpful in directing us to a local clinic
“Weekend in Gothenburg”
Best thing: breakfast and dinner buffet included in the price. Even afternoon cake. Good location. Worst thing: Pillows - too soft!
