“Ripped Off by Hotel Manager”
1. We stayed at this hotel from 4-5 December, 2009. We found it quaint that it was a cave hotel. Our room had a cave ceiling which had small bits and pieces dropping from it all night long onto the bed, floors and bathroom, including the bathtub (there was no shower), bathroom table and vanity tables. So expect your feet to be covered with dirt from the ceiling wherever you walk and your things to be covered with dirt when you wake the next morning. 2. We were charged 20 Euros per person for the airport transfer fee on a shuttle bus from the hotel to Nevsehir Airport. This had to be paid in cash to the hotel manager. No receipt was issued to us. If I used a credit card, I would have had to pay 10 Euros more so I paid in cash. I found this strange. On board the bus, I found out from a Turkish lady who works locally in the hospitality industry that the actual fare should have been 20 Turkish Lire (9 Euros) per person. I feel really irked that we were cheated by the hotel manager. This same hotel manager also told us that a day-tour of the area would cost 120 Euros per person. We found out from the same Turkish lady that her hotel charged its guests US$40 per person for similar tours. Thankfully we were not stupid enough to accept the day-tour from our hotel. I have not encountered such rates even in Paris or London, let alone in rural Turkey. This hotel or at least its hotel manager rips its guests off. Do not stay here.
