“Love to return but ask about amenities”

While looking for a villa in Marathon, I found Village At Hawks Cay Villas and remembered our stay there two years ago. I decided that booking a villa was the way to go with my family and remembered how all the amenities at Hawks Cay seem to superceed the nightly stay of a room in the keys. Upon arrival we went straight to the kids water park and let them play. We used our room key to obtain towels and inquire about the next day's activities. Following day we decide to go to the resort's main pool to see the dolphins and swim in the lagoon. We order lunch, rent Kayaks putting all these expenses on our room. That afternoon the kids wanted to go back to the water park and then use the kids recreation room for games. When we arrived to check in the front clerk saw that our key for our villa was thru Keys Caribbean and that guests staying at Villas managed thru Keys Caribbean were not a part of the Hawks Cay properties. We went back to our room to call our reservation manager and read on a letter left on our kitchen counter when we arrived welcoming us to Hawks Cay, further down the letter it did state that hawks Cay amenities are not part of our reservation. When I booked the Villa on the Expedia website no where on the web page did it state that reserving a Villa at Hawks Cay Village was NOT part of the Hawks Cay resort. The main reason for our decision to stay there was for the villa and the pools and the resort layout and all their amenities. Our kids were very upset.

“Great family hotel”

Its a great family oriented hotel. A lot of activities for kids and adults. About the restaurants, I just visited la cantina and it was a bit pricy for what it is, and the food was not very good

“Nice, but NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE REAL HAWKS CAY”

The facility is a nice facility. 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 stories. However when booking the room, it is miss leading, the facility is NOT part of Hawks Cay Resort even though part of the name "Hawks Cay" is in the name of the facility. You are unable to use the Hawks Cay Resort facilities etc, therefore we had to drive everywhere and spent additional money on items that would be supplied by a resort. You are not told about this, until a day or two before you arrive. You get an email that states that by the way in bold red letters, this is not affiliated with Hawks Cay Resort etc. Also the email tells you that there is a large deposit due prior to check in for incidentals and potential damage. Some people might not be able to afford this deposit even though you get it back about 10 days later. Again, the resort is nice and clean, just miss leading on who it is affiliated with and what you think you might be getting.
