Only 35 km west of Nadi in Fiji's Mamanuca Island group is Tokoriki Island Resort. In 2007, the resort's “home” reef and lagoon were declared a marine park sanctuary, encouraging greater diversity and numbers of sea life, such as giant clams, shells, and corals.
Tokoriki Resort is primarily a couples-only escape, with an emphasis on privacy, romance, and intimacy. Arriving guests receive a Fijian Bula that includes leis, fruit cocktail, and a welcome gift.
Facilities include a terrace restaurant, with small private decks and beachfront dining. A second restaurant serves a Japanese dinner menu in a setting overlooking the garden. The main reception area features a bar and lounge, and recreational facilities include, two pools (one infinity and one lagoon-style), a flood-lit tennis court and table tennis, full service health and beauty spa, and an upmarket boutique selling popular and exquisitely crafted ranges of jewelry, clothing, gifts, wooden artifacts, and skin care products.
Water sports such as kayaking, catamaran sailing, snorkeling, and windsurfing are complimentary for guests, and escorted dives are available for an additional charge from the resort's accredited operator, Dive Tropex. Extensive walking tracks cross the resort's 65 hectares. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available from a small kiosk behind reception.
Rooms
The resort comprises just 34 bures and villas with Fijian architecture and detailing in combination with a range of modern amenities. Each room has a furnished balcony or patio. All are spacious, freestanding, and air-conditioned, with private outdoor showers with rainfall showerheads, and internal ensuites. Additional amenities include coffee/tea makers, mini refrigerators, minibars, hair dryers, in-room safes, bathrobes, iron/ironing boards, beach mats, and ceiling fans.

“Awesome! will be going back.”
I was worried about the fact that this resort has smoking rooms as I am a non smoker, to my surprise and relief the rooms did not smell at all. The accomodation was beautiful, the service and food were excellent. Most were content to sit around the pool but don't miss out on the snorkelling and scuba diving which is awesome and well worth the effort of getting off your bum! They also do trips to other Islands, sunset cruises and a local village trip if you want to do something different. A completely different experience to the big resorts at Denarau.
“ALREADY SAVING TO RETURN”
A brilliant holiday and honeymoon! Perfect views and activities to suit all people. Cocktails were best we've ever had, staff extremely friendly and helpful! It was the most relaxing and romantic holiday!
“Perfect!”
We visited Tokoriki for 3 nights to start our honeymoon. It was everything we expected and more. The staff was so friendly and nice. The food was excellent and there was someone singing everyday during lunch and dinner - they even take requests. There are activities available (most are free), but if you just want to lay by the pool or on the beach, you can do that too. The room was beautiful and very clean. They put fresh flowers in the bathroom each day. Another thing we really liked about this resort is that there are no kids! The surrounding area is beautiful. The resort is remote, there is one other resort on the same island, but you cannot see or hear them. There are a few islands in the distance, but you cannot see the main island from Tokoriki. It takes about 1.5 hours by boat to reach Tokoriki. There is plenty of space to take a walk on the beach or hike up to the top of the hill on the island for a great view. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced as well. We loved everything about it and would recommend this resort to any of our friends or family traveling to Fiji!
“Great friendly service with facilities to match”
Facilities and Bure were first class. The staff are genuinely pleased to greet and mix with you and they all make a point of referring to you by name. A number of activities such as snorkeling, sailing, kayaking etc are all complimentary. The food was suburb and the voice excellent and varied. We have stayed before and will be back again!
“Had a wonderful time on Tokoriki.”
We loved the whole week we stayed on Tokoriki Island. We felt like part of the family and enjoyed every moment.
“Fabulous resort - must be on the bucket list.”
This was by far the most spectacular resort stay we have experienced. The place was immaculate. Provided activities were at just the right pace and content. The food was the best food in Fiji. The staff were amazing - such kind, lovely, helpful, and personable staff. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived, and staff treated us like old friends. There was immaculate attention given to fine detail at this resort - there was nothing missed, and nothing that could be thought of to improve this experience.
“We are not sure we want you to know about this place”
Tokoriki Island Resort is nothing short of wonderful. Yes, it is a beautiful resort in a stunning setting. Yes, it has a fabulous kitchen with a varied menu so you won't get bored. Yes, they even have a small Japanese-themed restaurant just to add variation. Yes, the weather was gorgeous. But another resort could have all those things and not be as wonderful. What makes Tokoriki Island Resort fabulous is the staff. When we arrived we were welcomed by people playing music for us. Normally, this is when I'd like to crawl under a chair and avoid the attention. But this really was fun. The band plays from lunch on and off most of the day. They play a welcome song when people arrive, they play a sad song when you leave. Whenever you walk by a member of the staff, he or she will say, "Bula!" Some, and I don't know how, will remember your name. The staff makes you feel truly welcome. One thing you need to know is that meals are not rushed,. When we arrived in Nadi, our plane was an hour late. We apologized to our transfer driver. He said, "It's OK. We are on 'island time.' When you get to Tokoriki, if something is late, you just say, 'It's island time." We laughed, but it was a good lesson. Some meals tend to take a little bit longer than we would have liked. Another thing worth mentioning is that we really liked the other guests. We had a lot of fun and met some truly nice people. All in all, it was perfect. How often can you say anything like that?
“We will return - fantastic holiday!”
The hotel is idilyically situated by the crystal clear sea that is ideal for snorkelling and other water sports. The hotel consists of separate burets nestled in the lush tropical trees overlooking the sea. The staff were very friendly, knew us by name, and looked after us very well. And the food was delightful.
“Tokoriki Island Resort”
I spent three months online in the evening for hours looking for several different locations for my honeymoon with my wife and after narrowing down from 20 different locations from the caribean, hawaii, bahamas, Costa Rica, Cancun, Cabo, Bali, Tahiti, Bora Bora, this hotel was everything and more in comparison. The staff know your name first hand, the service was fantastic, the rooms were awesome(right on the beach), plenty of activities available to do on the island and off. If you're looking for a peacful getaway with no children, and considerable relaxation you would go wrong staying here the whole trip to Fiji. The time of my life!
“Loved it ! Would go back tomorrow.”
The staff were amazing, very friendy and catered to any requests we had. Meals were great - seafood was wonderful, the meat was overcooked to my liking but in general the food was great with enough options. The guests at the hotel seemed to be honeymooners or couples. The hotel has about 30 bures - the majority are beach front, other than in the restuarant we felt like we were alone on the island it was amazing. We went on 4 or 5 of the tour activities from the island and there were only 1 or 2 other couples on the tours, therefore the staff were very attentive. The best thing we loved about this location was the snorkelling. You can snorkel right from the beach and see an amazing number of tropical fish. The water temperature and visablity was wonderful. The rooms were great - very private, they have an outdoor (and an indoor) shower, air conditioning, right on the beach, great view and access to the beach. I would definately recommend and return to this hotel.
