“The best in Brighton”
We stayed for one night and were made very welcome. Treated as VIP's
“Lovely restful break”
Lovely relaxing break, a short walk from the Lanes, seafront and shops. Tasty organic breakfast and comfy beds.
“Recommended”
Very enjoyable stay. Lovely helpful, obliging & cheerful staff. Room was very good, extremely comfortable bed, and the entrie premises is very dog friendly, which was crucial for us. Less than a minute stroll to the seafront, I recommend the Regency restaurant on the seafront for excellent fresh seafood, only a 2 minute walk from the Oriental. On the down side, the funky hotel cocktail bar wasnt open at all during our stay which was disappointing. There is a lovely pub around the corner called the Lion & Lobster, charming in every way, and with great food, but totally ruined by the thumping R&B music played in the bar at monumental volume....to suit the staff rather than the paying customers. If the Hotel bar had been open we could have escaped that noise. all in all though, very good value for money and recommended
“A little gem!”
The hotel: clean and comfortable accommodation; helpful staff; wonderful breakfast. Location: a longish walk to the central Laines area (15 to 20 minutes) but taxis were prompt, helpful and reasonably priced.
“Great place with brilliant service”
Service was amazing, location perfect for walking into town and for the beach, breakfast great and really accommodating if you wanted to change anything. Room was really bright and airy and spacious. Have stayed in Brighton a lot and this is the first place we would definitely go back to and have raved about to our friends. You need to be let them know if you struggle with stairs as there are a lot to some rooms.
“Quiet Hideaway in the Heart of Brighton”
First time at this hotel but not in Brighton. Would definitely go back. Very welcoming, accomodating and friendly staff. If you want a quiet hotel away from the crowds but want to be within easy reach of the Pier, the Arches and the Lanes then this is an ideal hideaway.
“Well located, friendly hotel”
The friendliness and service in this hotel were top notch and the breakfast was delicious. The dining room/bar is very inviting with local art on the walls. We, however, felt our room wasn't up to the same standard and was overpriced therefore. It was quite worn, the floor was very creaky and the windows were quite dirty and draughty.
“Excellent Breakfast and Service - Small Room”
A small boutique hotel only half a block from the ocean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the delicious English breakfast alone (served in a groovy lounge a la Austin Powers) makes a visit worthwhile. The double room on the first floor, however, was very cramped for two people, and the floor squeaked to wake the dead.
“Nice hotel if a little worn”
The hotel clean and nicely decorated. It seemed to have been relatively recently renovated although it is beginning to show signs of wear. The room was a bit small but I didn't expect too much for the price. Annoyingly the room was not cleaned during the day (we only stayed two nights) and the window was in need of repair making it very difficult to open to cool the room (no air con).
“Awesome Breakfast Included”
The hotel is fairly new and needs to get a some logistics worked out - towls for the bathroom not available until after 6pm check in day - but overall quite nice. Slightly off the beaten path, perfect if you don't want a hen party staying down the hall. The breakfast was wonderful. The chef prepares fresh organic meals that rival any from the best restuarants in town!
