“Dun Laoghaire Royal Marine Hotel - a great venue”

We found the location perfect - our sea view room was spacious, the hotel is close to all necessary amenitites (even a nearby supermarket if you want to provide your own breakfasts) and proximity by public transport (DART) to city centre was an added bonus.

“Scenic and then some”

The Royal Marine Hotel is a beautiful place to stay while in Dublin. It is a short ride on the train to downtown Dublin. There is plenty of shops and places to eat within walking distance of the hotel if you want to stay by the water for the day. Spending time on the docks is a very pleasant way to pass the time as well.

“I'd tell everyone to stay here!”

Booking online is always somewhat risky, especially in a foreign country. The website accurately portrayed the Royal Marine Hotel, and it completely lived up to my expectations. It was beautiful, the food was great, the atmosphere was classy and the view of the bay wa gorgeous. The spa and exercise facility was awesome.

“hotel that exudes charm and character”

This hotel was just perfect for our short break away. On arrival we were given a complimentary sea view up-grade, much to our surprise. The rooms were lovely and staff were very friendly.

“Fantastic Hotel!”

We loved this hotel! It is beautiful on the outside, and very comfortable on the inside. The rooms are big, quiet, cool, and the bed is super comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and we loved staying in "Dun Leary" as the locals pronounce it- it's away from the noise and bustle of Dublin, and it is a charming little town. It's a 5 min walk to the Dart station, which can take you pretty much anywhere in the area you want to go. As some other travelers have said, we had similar issues with the shower in the bathroom, but it was a minor inconvenience. We also took the Patton coach to the airport, a great tip. We would go back in a heartbeat!

“It was great”

The hotel was great. It was the perfect place for us because we didn't want to drive in downtown Dublin or pay for parking there. The hotel is right on the water and the DART is across the street. You can make it to downtown Dublin in 20 minutes on the DART. It was well worth the price and saved us a lot of frustration by not having to deal with the driving or parking. It is also very quiet so after a long day of hustle and bustle in Dublin you can return to your quiet little sanctuary.

“Beautiful hotel in quiet location”

Impressive looking hotel in a quiet location, with a good view of the harbor. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. We had a problem with the water in our bathroom one day, and it was fixed immediately after we reported it. The DART station is just a few minutes on foot from the hotel. We bought a week-long pass, which was convenient, as we took the train every day. Dublin is about a 20 minute ride, Howth is 50 minutes, and Malahide Castle can be reached in 55-60 minutes. Only two complaints: 1) Room service ends at 10 p.m., and 2) The room was a bit cold. You can adjust the heat, but there's a set temperature range (19-24 C). Because the bed was comfortable, and the blanket was extremely warm, the temperature didn't prevent us from sleeping. All in all it's a luxurious hotel, and Dun Laoghaire is charming.

“Beautiful hotel, a little piece of paradise”

Such a lovely hotel, we could hardly bring ourselves to leave. The staff were very flexible, nothing we asked was too difficult and the food was excellent. It is a distant from the city but public transport is really easy and it was kind of nice to escape. The gym was clean and the treadmills have individual tvs, the pool and hot tub were also excellent.
