“Want to return!”
We ended our two week vacation in Ireland at the Portmanock Hotel and Golf Links. After days of driving it was the perfect place to end! The location on the beautiful beach is amazing, and the long walks there relaxed and rejuvenated us for the long trip home. It is definitely a return destination!
“Wonderful Hotel outside Dublin”
Not wishing to drive in Dublin and looking for a place near the airport on the bus route this was a wonderful place to stay. Lovely views of the ocean and the golf course and the staff was very helpful. Would stay again.
“excellent experience”
very relaxing setting next to bay
“Lovely experience at this hotel all around!”
We checked with the front desk upon our check in as We had our parents flying in the next morning at 5:30and even though their room was not going to be ready at that time of the morning - the girl at the desk reserved a welcome suite for them to rest and wash up in. They ended up staying in that room and they sent up a complimentary tray of O.J.and little things for them to munch on. We didn't even ask them to! (which we should have-shame on us I love the Irish!) The Jameson Bar downstairs had very welcoming and friedly staff who worked their big hearts out making sure we had all the info we asked for and made sure I had ice. Damien(GOD of ICE at the bar along with the others - I think Stephen was one( They were too good at their jobs for me to remember all of thier names) and the husband wife manager team(I think they were managers as they did absolutely everything at all times of the day) The cocktail lounge was also extremely friendly especially the vibrant man with the talking hands! - I must say- I was very pleased and wished I had chosen there for our last night when I did our vacation bookings. The only reason I gave a 4 in convenience of hotal location is that for me it was great as I wanted to be by the sea - but it is at least 20 mnutes from the city center and airport for someone who is concious of that extra 10 mnute drive.
“Great stay”
Very nice hotel and would return.
“Good choice for Golf and near Airport”
Very nice golf course and great views of the sea. Great bars to relax at night, there is a piano bar and the Jameson bar is nice as well. Town of Mallahide is a short drive with nice restaurants and bars. Portmarnock has a few things to do as well. Many courses within a short distance, played the Links at Portmarnock and Royal Dublin. Many others are near. Took a bus into Dublin, fairly easy (bus stop is literally at the hotel entrance) and a 40 minute trip. I would recommend staying there if you are looking to get a few rounds of golf in. If your focus is Dublin, you may want to stay closer to the city.
“Best Hotel Near a Major Airport”
Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links served as my base near Dublin Airport during a month's stay in Ireland. It is the best hotel near a major airport that I've ever found. The service is good. The views are terrific. The golf course is world class. I've been back at least 8 times in three years, and will go back as often as I can!
“Cozy”
We enjoyed our stay and overall we were satisfied with the service. The rooms are a little small compared to similar priced places in the USA. There was a delay in our early morning check out, about 15 minutes, which caused us to miss our flight. The night clerk could not check us out because he was running an audit. We missed our flight by 5 minutes, so we learned not to cut it so close next time. When we go back to Ireland we would stay at Port Marnock Hotel again. Great golf course!
