“Great for families”
We had trouble finding a hotel room large enough for our family of 5 so I was skeptical on what I would find here. We were pleasantly surprised though to find our room was actually 2 rooms - 1 with two double beds and 1 with a fold-out sofa bed, which was just fine for our son who wanted time away from his 2 sisters. The rooms were clean and nicely prepared. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and kitchen sink with dishes. The only complaint I had was the bathroom area, which was all in one room. It would have been nice to have a separate sink/make-up area, especially for 5 people. We will definitely stay here again.

“Excellent Hotel (March 2010)”
Traveling Amtrak --> arriving at the Union Station and looking for a hotel located in/near the Loop? Answer: Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Chicago (10 minutes away) ! We got a great deal/rate (& purchased breakfast coupon) for 1-night stay for 2 adults. This was our first time booking through Expedia. Our early arrival (1:30 pm instead of 3 pm) was no problem -- Front desk staff had our room ready and waiting for us ! The Porter loaded onto the luggage cart and within minutes we arrived at our room. Room was larger than we imagined--beds were very comfortable & bathroom was spotless ! Breakfast prices very reasonable. Every hotel staff person we encountered exhibited excellent customer service--keep up the great work ! Next vist to Chicago will absolutely begin with making reservations Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Chicago.

“Pleasantly suprised”
We had never been to Chicago before so we were concerned about what kind of neighborhood we were going to be staying in and what the quality of the hotel was going to be. We were very pleased on both counts. We chose the hotel because it was close to the sites we were going to visit and public transportation so it served our purposes very well. I recommend this location to any thrifty person traveling to Chicago who doesn't require upscale and fancy.
“Nice place for a reasonable price”
Pros: - Near to downtown - Courteous staff - Reasonable Price Cons: - The lobby is not very spacious. Looks crowded when 3 or 4 people check in/out at the same time - Could not find a refrigerator or microwave anywhere in the hotel.
