The Mediterranean Beachfront Apartments
3.5 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (14)
"We stayed 4 nights visiting relatives who live in Yorkey's Knob. It is a very quiet township with limited shopping for food and cafes. The apartment is very spacious with a large balcony and a good view to the foreshore. It has full kitchen facilities and is very well equipped - also washer and dryer. Most enjoyable stay."

The Reef House Boutique Hotel and Spa - Adults Only
5.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (685)

"The property had all we wanted for our 2 night visit, it was clean, comfortable and in a convenient location for walking access. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The small pool area only has room for two sun beds so you have to be quick or lucky to get one. We were lucky! Overall good value for money."

How many historically relevant hotels will I find in Cairns?

What are the top historical places and other sights to visit in Cairns?
Landmarks like Cairns Regional Gallery and Tjapukai Cultural Park in Cairns might be worth a visit. Cultural venues include Cairns Performing Arts Centre, Australian Armour and Artillery Museum and The Cairns Museum. Cairns Esplanade is another popular sight to explore.
What is a historic hotel like in Cairns?
Historic hotels give guests the chance to stay in a place that’s been recognised with a national historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world can be castles, palaces, grand homes or even old police stations, pubs, lodges or skyscrapers — any place of special interest. These types of hotels in Cairns often preserve authentic elements such as period features or traditional architecture in guestrooms or communal spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
They are quite similar. The term “historic hotel” is more common in the U.S., while you’ll often hear “heritage hotel” in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to focus on the architecture and building. Heritage hotels draw their meaning mainly from the cultural value that the place has and how it influenced the community.
Do historic hotels in Cairns have modern facilities?
Yes, efforts are made to preserve historic facades and treasured traditions, but hotel interiors are fitted with modern conveniences and safety features. Tourists who book a stay can expect the usual amenities you’d get from a hotel such as private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, WiFi and more. Booking a historic hotel in Cairns doesn’t mean you’re picking a place that’s rundown.
