“A Neat and Good accomodation”
was worth staying thier for the amount spent, quiet place nice kicthen, bar and pool, only minutes away from city by driving, they arranged all trips along with breakfast provided
“onvernight stay”
Mattress not too comfortable and air-conditioning could be a little better but overall great value for money
“Not impressed”
I made this booking very fast as we only wanted a room to sleep for 10pm to 4am as we had to be at the airport at 4.30am. However if I knew I was not going to have a toilet and shower in the room I wouldn't have book it. The room was quite basic although the people at the counter were friendly.
“cheap and easy”
Well if you substitute resort for backpackers then you would be closer to the mark. In saying that, it was the nicest backpackers I have ever stayed in. We were only there for a night, we got there very late and left early the next morning. It was just what we needed. Simple easy and cheap. Rooms are not designed to spend time in really except sleeping, so if you approach from that outlook you wont be disappointed.
“Not impressed”
This resort is conveniently close to Cairns Airport (although not so close for the aircraft noise to be a problem) and for many of the local attractions. At reception it was possible to reserve many excursions and attractions, and the staff in reception and elsewhere in the resort were firendly, helpful and very obliging. So that was the positive. Despite appearances, this is a budget hotel. Buyer beware!
“Budget and nothing more”
We knew we couldn't expect a lot, for what we're paying. But what was really annoying, that the front office was boasting with style and looking quite expensive, giving very false impressions upon arrival. The rooms are simply dorms with noisy stone-age aircon (you can't use it at night due to the noise). Dirty showers and loos located outside in the corridor. But the outside area is pretty good, with big swimming pool and cold water spa (rather interesting combination!).
“Never again! This is NOT a resort!!”
The 2 rooms we had were just clean enough. The beds were reasonably comfortable. HOWEVER! Even though billed as a "Resort", and the room photos and room description on the web-site looked good, the reality was quite different. Contrary to the room description, our rooms had no free movie channels because there was no TV, no DVD player, no clock radio, no minibar, no in-room safe, no desk or table, not a chair to sit on. nowhere to hang clothes (not even a wire coat hanger) no glass for a drink of water, not one adornment on the totally bare walls. And our reception when we arrived at 8.40 pm was anything but cordial. Even though the sign said open till 9 pm, all the old fellow kept saying was "I shouldn't be here now, I want to go home (with no smile)" and kept looking at his watch! The moderately clean shared toilet was out in the hallway, as was the not very clean shower room that had no facility whatever to hang a towel or put a toilet bag or hang clothes -- totally bare. In other words, an over-priced backpacker flophouse. We've had far better facilities in third world countries. Thank goodness it was only for one night!!! Oh, I forgot to mention the coffee cup encrusted with dried out cup-a-soup. On the credit side, the continental breakfast area beside the pool was OK, but the choice of cereals was limited to Corn Flakes or Rice Bubbles.
“I wouldnt stay there again. not clean..”
We have been to Cairns before and this was not a good choice. I wouldnt have stayed there if I knew
“Bad Christmas experience!!”
I note that our stay was over the Christmas and New Year, But to not change our sheets for all of the 9 nights we stayed and to not clear out the rubbish for the first 4 nights is just lazy!!! I think this site may have wanted to save money by not putting on staff but really they should have done the basics!! also when I asked for clean towels I was told to come back the following morning as they were about to close and couldn't (be bothered) walk to the storage and get me some! I would not recommend and I will be telling all friends and family NOT to go any where near this dump! they also lock you out of the breakfast area and then also ration the cereal and Bread, but wait if you want to use the Kitchen that is also in this area then Hard luck. This place has a bad attitude to customer service and basic cleanliness It may be a cheaper option but defiantly not a cheerful one!
