“Not really four star”

This hotel smelt of smokers, and was a bit run down. The breakfast was adequate. Pool area and gymnasium was great. Hotel is close to wharf area which is a bonus but the general area is fairly ordinary. Overall a comfortable stay but would feel a bit unsafe if walking at night.

Getting around

Pack good walking shoes. It is a great city to discover on foot. It is hilly in parts but that is good for walking off the great food you can eat at the wonderful variety of cafes and bars along the wharf area.

Must see

The harbor precinct, the museum near the university, Park street shops, new city shopping precinct, hippodrome.

Shopping

Park Street has wonderfully interesting music and gift shops as well as fashion. Also the big new mall area in the city has a great selection of stores.
