“Comfort amidst the Marseille chaos”
The hotel looks very unpretentious from outside. We got a great room, with a living room, a big bedroom with a king-size bed and a very spacious bathroom. We had breakfast one day and it was ok. There are so many options nearby we opted for going out for breakfast most of our mornings. Staff at the front desk was super nice and helpful. Free wifi is great and I only stay at hotels that offer this. Overall, in the midst of chaotic Marseille, this hotel was an oasis of peace and comfort.
“Great location”
The location of this hotel cannot be beat! We could see the harbor even out of our promo room. The hotel is next to Galleries Lafayette and central street and the harbor. There are many restaraunts around. Our room was large. The staff at the front desk was great, with good English! Howerver, we had 3 concerns about the room: the heater did not work (we realized it too late so we did not bring it up to the staff), the carpet was very old and the oddest thing is that the shower tub did not have a curtain - huge inconvenience; besides the feeling that you are on a stage, the water was all over the floor and everything that was laying around the bathroom and the toilet (we started to put the lid and the seat up before taking a shower). It was impossible not to have water on the bathroom floor. We had to request extra towels every day to wipe the floor. Hotel management, please, put shower curtains!
“nice bet for novice travelers to France”
Hotel nicely renovated and rooms are clean and well deocrated. We had a nice view of the port/water with the upgraded room. Breakfast available on premise was good and convenient. Hotel staff spoke English well and were very friendly. Area seemed pretty safe and situated close to the action/restaraunts along the boats. Easy walk to historical attractions. Currency exchange was nearby. Parking was right across the street but was expensive (what isn't in Europe). I would defintely recommend the hotel. Marsaille was a fun time for our first visit to France.
“Smart choice near Gare de Lyon.”
We stayed in this hotel just one night and chose it due to its proximity to the Gare de Lyon. The service was friendly, efficient and they spoke English. The hotel is on the older side, but that actually gave it some charm. Our room was clean and had a great window overlooking the street. The price wasn't bad for Paris and this gave us a chance to explore the 12th arrondissement a bit.
“Great location”
This hotel is only yards from the Vieux Port metro stop and my room had a view of the harbour. Staff have good English and are very helpful. The only thing I missed was tea and coffee making facilities. I stayed here for a three night break and would return.
“So central”
This is a pretty nice hotel in a perfect central spot, though our room was right near the church bell...helped us know what time it was I suppose! Super central spot, pretty safe, lots of restaurants to pick from, room small but clean, bathroom larger than average european. Cute city, very enjoyable.
“Great room, passable service”
The location could hardly be better, right on the port. The room was large, pretty nice and looked like it had been recently redecorated (the themes are a bit tacky and dated though - why couldn't the theme be Marseille instead of the Serengeti/Orient etc?) The bed was a bit uncomfortable. The staff were ok but a bit disinterested (apart from one flirty gay guy who was chatty and helpful).
“Good unpretentious hotel for the budget minded.”
Location is perfectly safe. It's only few steps to the metro station, Rue Canabriere and Vieux Port area where there are many shops and restaurants, and where you can take the Petite Train for sightseeing. Tourist Office and money changer are nearby. Room, elevator and reception area are small but more than adequate. Front desk ladies were cheerful, very nice and hepful. We'll stay at this hotel again. Highly recommended for frugal travellers!!
“Very happy with our stay”
The hotel... was as most previous reviews mentioned and there were no surprises. The hardest thing was finding the place with Gps in our hire care as the address does not take you to the small street where you can park the car while unloading your luggage. True to their word the Supermarket carpark across the street was a good place to park the car when not in use. The staff were friendly and I will certainly stay here again should I return to Marseille.
“Perfect spot on the vieux port.”
Clean; quiet; air condition in room; great bathroom;good breakfast.
