“Modern and comfortable”
A good quality, modern hotel close to the Vieux Port and over the road from the Pharo Palace which affords excellent panoramic views over the busy harbour. Restaurants and shopping all in walking distance. The Hotel's restaurant is very good.
“A beautiful luxury hotel”
We spent ten days in Marseilles and treated ourselves to this hotel for the last four days. It's was just lovely. The pool is gorgeous, clean, cool and inviting. There are plenty of sun loungers around it and a sheltered terrace and drinks/food are served there 24 hours a day. The rooms are large, inviting, clean with great views. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the Vieux Port one way, five minutes to the beach the other. The restaurant and bar are quite expensive though there are some good deals to be found. I can't recommend this place highly enough; just lovely.
“Ideal Marseilles Hotel”
Excellent situation - high quality hotel
“Very clean, good service”
This hotel was opened in April 2006 so it is very clean. All staff that we dealt with spoke English and were helpful. It is in a good location - walking distance to the Vieux Port, but far enough away that you don't hear any noise at night. The no. 83 bus stop is about a 1 minute walk from the front door. When flying into the Marseille airport, get to this airport by taking the bus to Gare Saint-Charles and then taking a taxi directly to the hotel. It is about a 45 minute ride that will cost you less than 40 euro for 2 travelers (as of June 2006).
“Still some glitches to fix but this will be a great hotel”
When we stayed in this hotel, it had been opened for 4 days. That means (for the good part) that everything is new and you have the feeling of being the first ones sleeping in the bed, using the bathroom and having dinner in the restaurant. For (the bad part) it means that most of the services where not available such as wi-fi, internet, tv reception of pretty low quality, reception of the hotel still unfinished, pool empty ... Overall a great place to stay.
“A pleasant surpise”
New Hotel of Marseille Le Pharo was a very pleasant surprise. Hotel is located right across the road from the Le Pharo Parc. The hotel is quite modern, and the room was very nicely furnished with a balcony overlooking the old fort. Staff were quite courteous and very helpful. Restaurant having indoor and outdoor dining was quite nice ... though the breakfast buffet was a bit pricey for what was offered. Hotel is a short walk (15-20 minutes) from from the hustle and bustle of the port. Being in a quiet setting was actually quite nice ... and was a welcome retreat at the end of the day.
“Superb”
Fantastic hotel in an excellent location if you want to explore the Vieux Port area of Marseille. With friendly and helpful staff, a relaxed atmosphere and some wonderfully stimulating decor, I wished I could have stayed a few more days!
“Smart, trendy and modern”
This hotel was very well situated for our needs. 2 mins walk to the Catalan beach and a short stroll back down the road to the Vieux Port. There are also bus stops very close to the hotel from where you can catch a bus into the city's shopping centre or down the Corniche to the larger beaches. The hotel is very modern and comfortable, it all feels extremely new. The corridors glow with fluorescent lights and the polystyrene artwork was interesting! The swimming pool area is fairly small, as you'd expect from a city centre hotel, however, there are plenty of loungers on the decking and the pool is a perfect size for a refreshing dip. The only downside is the hugely overpriced bar and restaurant though this is not a problem as Marseille is full of restaurants and bars.
“Excellent Hotel”
We had a wonderful stay at this Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were excellent. The only down side was the price of breakfast @16 euro's for a buffet breakfast which seemed quite expensive, unless you can eat a huge breakfast. It would be better if breakfst was included for, say 10 euro's per person that way everyone would have breakfast in the Hotel resulting in no waste of food and there would be no large bill to pay at the end of your stay.
“Lovely!”
Lovely hotel - modern, comfortable, very clean, gorgeous food and great service. Great location - 10 mins to the right and you're at the port and 10 mins to the left there's a small beach. Stayed 5 nights and felt so relaxed and comfortable the whole time. You must visit Notre Dame de la Garde and walk it if you can up the steep roads or get the little tourist train that runs from the port.
