A charming hotel of 51 roomsThis is a large and charmingly constructed bourgeois house with rooms equiped of free WIFI : you have the choice between Comfort rooms and Privilege rooms. In the grounds is to be found the “Mas des Genêts”, a little architectural gem of 4 Deluxe rooms with provençal decorations and furnitures. Two of them have a small terrace with a view on the garden.Pets are not allowed in the hotel.- A Family suite can welcome up to 6 people

“Very stylish. Stay here if you can.”

This hotel complex was like having your own estate in Marseille. The beautiful gardens, outdoor courtyard and stylish old buildings made the whole experience great. The room we stayed in had a very stylish, modern interior with quaity fittings and a Nescafe Expresso (POD) machine. Nice touch for your own espresso in the morning. When we were there, it was two euro for the pod (one cup) but well worth it. We had our own car and parking is provided free. We also used the bus which is just a one minute walk (or less) from the hotel. It takes you right into town.

Area recommendations

The neighborhood of the hotel, bordering on Bompard is quiet, safe and convienient.

“New Hotel Bompard-Marseille, France”

When we arrived it was very late, but still very difficult to find. The night person was not very knowledgable in questions we needed answered and very unwilling to help. The room was not what we had booked and asked for some kind of compensatoin in the morning with the manager and they refused. We found the customer service to be extremely poor and very rude as well. The grounds themselves as they display in the pictures are very beautiful, which is deceiving to lure you in but I would not list this as one of your hotels on expedia to our US customers traveling to France.

Area recommendations

I cannot recommend another area as it was my first time to France and was only suggested by others that this would be an area that we would like to see. The hotel was not suggested, just what I found on your website.

When to go

We went the last 3 weeks of May and would have expected it to be comparable to our weather here in the US at springtime. Possibly due to the global warming, the weather was all but that. It was very cool every day in each country we visited. We were in Italy, France, and Spain. Either it rained or was cloudy and on the cool side. Not what I was expecting. I would recommend going more into June for more favorable weather.
