“Great Location”
The hotel was in a great location - close to the tram, to restaurants, great neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent. The room, though not overly large, was very comfortable.
“Excellent location”
We didn't take the tram from the Gare St-Jean station because we couldn;t tell how close it was to the hotel. Well, it is extremely close - take the tram line C to the station "Gambetta". The hotel is just around 2 corners. Don;t spend $$ on a taxi (16 euros). We took the tram to return to the station on our departure from Bordeaux.. Also, Place Gambetta (by the hotel) has a great bicycle rental shop, "Pierre Qui Roule". Rent a bike and spend an enjoyable half day exploring Bordeaux's center by bike. Definitely worthwhile. Hotel Continental -- we would definitely stay there again. Great value/location/hotel.
“Older hotel in a good location with good service and cleanliness”
Room was small, bed was low to floor and fairly hard. Very old hair dryer in bathroom! Room and bathroom was clean, had a shower door that actually closed off the shower well compared to others in Europe. Location was excellent and hotel personnel was friendly and helpful.
“Excellent location in heart of Bordeaux”
The hotel is wonderfully located for all the best parts of Bordeaux. Good information is available in the reception and they always seem ready to help. The room is fairly small and the TV channels are all in French; but the room is clean and comfortable. The simple breakfast makes a good start to the day and the public computer is useful if, like me, you don't want to bring your laptop! All in all a good experience.
“Seen better days”
Room was small and breakfast was not great. Hotel is in great position for visiting Central Bordeaux

Area:
Bordeaux, France: Once known as La Belle Au Bois Dormant (Sleeping Beauty), Bordeauxs graceful neo-classical buildings have been restored, the leafy boulevards pedestrianised and the city of vintage wine is now wide awake. Picturesquely set on the banks of the River Garonne, this lively university city has pretty parks and squares, impressive museums, buzzing cafés and chic shops, not to mention a plethora of gourmet restaurants to accompany the fine wines.
