Excellent location. Can't beat the price.

“Good location”

At first I thought it might be a bit out of the way being quite far from the railway station station, but was easy to reach by tram and within walking distance of the main sites. Also close to the Meriadeck shopping centre which has a supermarket if you want to eat in as there is a kitchenette in the room. Mine also had a small balcony.

1. Staff were rude and unfriendly; 2. Hotel was in the middle of nowhere, not really a desirable area. But: 3. Room was large, clean, and well-equipped. It's an apartment, really. 4. While being far removed from anything of interest, it is very near the tram line. 5. The one thing it is near is a huge grocery store/shopping center, and I mean huge! Good to go stock up on food to load your mini-fridge with. If you aren't going to be in Bordeaux long, I wouldn't recommend it. Would probably be nice for an extended stay, however.

“OK for an short stay”

The hotel was clean and the staff helpful. If we had been staying longer the kitchen facilities in the room would have been very useful. Our only negative was that Breakfast was very basic for the price.

“Decent hotel”

Well located next to a shopping centre and only 10-15 mins walk from the historic centre. Room was decent size with kitchenette and bathroom, bed a sofabed but comfortable. Kitchen had 2 electric rings and a microwave. Only gripe really a lack of utensils / crockery (no wooden spoon, only a couple of small glasses, etc), and also no washing up liquid or sponges, no basics like salt / pepper / cooking oil which you always get if you stay in private appartments. There was a computer with internet in the lobby. Staff were pleasant but they couldnt store our bags on sunday because there was no-one working, and they couldnt provide much information about options for getting to the airport.

“Good location, terrible service”

The hotel is in a good location, close to the main part of the city and right by the Musee des Beaux Arts, however the check in time is from 8 to 12pm, then 2pm to 8pm. If you have a late check in the hotel is empty and you have to call an emergency number in order to access your paperwork for check in. The man at registration is also very rude and gave us a hard time when we asked for a map.

“not impressed”

We stayed at the citidines as part of our overall trip to the Bordeaux region. As a concept the citidines apartment hotel is a good idea. Self catering and in the centre of town, however it is a complete concrete dump. The complex is situated in the concrete jungle section of Bordeaux placed between the main police station and fire station. The rooms have no air conditioning, which meant we had to leave our windows open, we didn't sleep much because of the noise. The rooms and the corridors were dirty, we noted that the hallway carpets had been vacuumed for the three days we were there. I have to point out a few positives now, the staff at the complex were very nice and helpful and there was breakfast available at a cost of 8 euros per person. The complex is also in a ideal spot for reaching major sites in bordeaux by foot. Also the cost of the stay was very cheap compared to other accommodation in the city.
