“Great Hotel in Barcelona!”

“Great Little Hotel”
Terrific location in the middle of Old Town. Easy walking to ATM, Food stores and many major sites in Barcelona. (Great Pastry Shop at the nearest Metro stop (Juame I). Everyone was helpful, but one desk clerk was especially welcoming and gave us recommendations for restaurants and where to celebrate Mid-Summer's Eve or St John the Baptist Eve - a very big thing in Spain. Beds are on platforms (very modern decor), but we slept well. There were no doors on the bedrooms, but the door to the bathroom area was a heavy, frosted glass. Strange, but there were no chothes hooks in the bath. The bath and one of the bedrooms was a few steps higher than the rest of the suite. This would not be a problem for most, but leave a light on at night so you don't forget the step. Would stay there again because of the location and the suite arrangement. The fridge and microwave made it easy to adjust eating patterns when traveling with a 13 year old.
“Small Gem in Barcelona”
A five minute walk to Picasso Museum and Barcelona Cathedral made this hotel our choice. On a narrow side street, it was close to banks, bakeries, restaurants, and transit stops. The hotel was immaculate, modern renovation (about five years old) in an 18th Century structure. Hotel staff consisted of front desk and a maid. The English speaking front desk gave outstanding recommendations for restaurants, directions, local attractions. The lobby contained a wall of relevant books on the area as well as the expected brochures. With kitchenettes in the rooms, this would be comfortable for longer stay. One consideration is the local area. We were cautioned about theft, especially pickpockets. One night we heard gunshots in the area. At dusk the vendors and business clientle left the area. The warren of small streets was devoid of pedestrians or vehicles. However, we had no unpleasant encounterws and we roamed the central area of Barcelona freely.
“It was OK for the money”
Our room was nicely sized with a living room, small bedding room & bath, all with high ceilings. It was very clean though there were no kleenex tissues or washcloths of any kind, which was unusual. Also, on two of the three nights we stayed, we'd return in the evening to a sewage smell which was difficult getting used to. And, being in a popular spot, it could get very noisy outside at all hours of the night while we tried to sleep. But, the hotel staff was very nice & it was a great location, not far from the metro station.
“Hidden Gem in Ciutat Vella”
Great hotel in a fantastic location (albeit a bit hard to find). The rooms are full apartments with a large living room, kitchen etc. One negative is that they do not staff the hotel very well after hours. Between about 23:00 and 6:00 you may have someone who doesn't speak any English. Other than that - SUPER!
“Sweet Chris 85”
The hotel is beautiful. for check in we had to wait a little bit about 1 1/2 hrs until the room was ready ( it was about 8 am). but by the time we came back from walking around and eating breakfast they called us to tell us it was ready and they even took all of out luggage to our room. the hotel is clean, spacious and comfortable. i would stay there again the next time i visit. the only thing is that they stove was not for use (for safety reasons, that what they told us) but it is a fully functioning kitchen besides that but we just ate and warmed up the left over lol . i am glad that i chose this hotel. would recommend it to friends.
“Excellent Choice”
Excellent service - terrific rooms (actually suites) very clean
“SCARY NEIGHBORHOOD”
Overall the Hotel is fine if you don't mind going back to your room just for sleep and nothing more. If you're looking for extreme luxury, this is not the place!! Now, here come the warnings, FIRST the Hotel is situated between narrow alleys off of the main street and your taxi will NOT drop you off at the front of the Hotel which is scary if you arrive at night. SECONDLY, the hotel staff (at first) and half of BCN must not like American tourists because everyone gives you the "cold shoulder" and are not too big on customer service, even though we spoke Spanish. Upon arrival, the hotel staff were very uncooperative and dismissive (good luck asking questions), THIRD during our trip my hair dryer and straight iron blew up because the outlet adapter I was provided by the hotel wasn't the right one. But when I told them about it, their answer was “y” or “and?” I was appalled at that answer and wasn’t given a credit!! FOURTH the "free" wifi in my room would only work in one area in the livingroom and you have to sit still so you won't loose your signal. LASTLY Good luck getting any sleep while your there, there are a million pigeons all over the Hotel building and they crow ALL NIGHT long! Seriously the only thing convenient about this place is that everything is within walking distance but be sure to come back before dark! There are other hotels just around the block that are far better. Bookers beware!!!
“Hotel Boria ( The hidden joy)”
Hotel Boria is situated in the Gothic Quarters session of Barcelona; however, there is no need to be alarmed...It was quite safe. The hotel is down one of the crooked, small streets that the quarters are famous for. I thoroughly enjoyed the nearness to La Rambla...
“Wonderful!”
Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. One thing to note is that the place is kind of hard to find so I would suggest getting a taxi to get there. Otherwise, the location is great.

Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Spain: Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
