“BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE STAYED IN BALI”

First the hotel didnt have a room ready at 2 pm to check in it took till 3.20 (after being told ten minutes!) The hotel did give us a voucher for the spa for this inconvenience However this was just the start of the issues The rooms are not in good condition our room hadnt had a GOOD clean for a long time There was spew on the curtains. The robes had the worst yellow staining i have ever seen around the collar. The towels were gray and tatty + they also forgot hand towels + bath mat. The sheets and the mattress protector were stained After a while out of the room we returned to the worse smell i have ever smelt coming from the AC (like something died in there) To which the hotel thought spraying an entire can of rose air freshener would fix it (it didnt it masked it badly) So i had to turn the AC off in the night The next day i did point all these issues out to the AGM (I had asked for the GM but he sent the AGM) we asked him to change rooms which took till lunchtime and wasted our time The new room was a lot cleaner but still the same issues with towel and sheet quality. Also the phone in that room didnt work (A case of a rat chewing through a cable!) and required 4 visits from the poor engineer who was a fantastic guy and even wrote our room service order out; There was also no pool towels at the main pool unles you get in real early (which also need to be replaced!) The food from TAO was poor and the pool up there has no towels at all! EVER! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Area recommendations
Seminyak is great for shopping for higher end clothes and GREAT for food Kuta/Legian is hustle and bustle but great fun if you relax and have a laugh with the locals UBUD is great for art and a bit calmer Lovina (Northern Bali) Is like the Bali of old and has very few tourists
Getting around
Grab a scooter if your confident its so much quicker to get around and cheap as ! If your not game to ride one jump on the back with a local transport scooter guy its a experience you wont forget. Also good if your in a rush heaps quicker than a cab! Although Taxis are plentiful if your going a short distance grab a Bluebird as they always have meters To go further out grab a driver. Do some research on costs but also specify you dont want to stop at every art market silver shop'etc ( they get a commission for bringing tourists there and can seriously take up heaps of your time!)
Dining
Go to Naughty Nuris in Seminyak for the AWESOME Ribs and BRUTAL Martinis! MY FAVOURITE ! LA LUCIOLA for quality Italian KU TE DA for awesome cocktails and fusion food Rock bar for the sunset (get there real early) Potato head for good food and cocktails All very pricey by Bali standards but well well worth it To eat local Sammys around the corner has the coldest Bintang and great local food cheap as chips Mades Warung is tasty and cheap ( The beef rendang is awesome) Mugshots near the hotel does great rolls and coffee especially the iced coffees in the Bali heat
Family-friendly activities
Head to Waterbom park makes you feel like a kid again on them water slides then you can float around the lazy pool and have a drink or get a cabana and have a nap you'll need it after running up all the stairs! Bali Safari park is a great day out its great on the bus touring through the natural habitat with Tigers, Hippos, Lions and all the other animals. Feeding the elephants is hilarious and holding the orangutan is joyus as well make sure you have your camera ! Eat there as its an experience youll never forget eating with the Lions! ( and seeing them from the toilet!)

“Beach-Front!”

Bali is Bali. Having a big and comfortable hotel at the beach front is an advantage in itself. Hotel service was very good and up to the mark. The room is quite spacious and convenient. Everything inside worked as expected.

Area:

Kuta - Tuban, Bali, Indonesia: Kuta is a hectic hub of activity, day and night. Travellers from across the globe converge in search of bargain shopping, accommodation, restaurants, bars, discos, and clubs. Local white sand beaches offer excellent surfing conditions, and the atmosphere is informal and easygoing. Lying just south of Kuta is the slightly quieter and more family-oriented township of Tuban.
