“Charming, perfectly located hotel”
We just by chance, sat next to a woman on the train who was raised in Annecy and now lives in California. when I told her where we were staying she said that it was the best place to stay in town if you wanted the charm of an old hotel. she was so right. it was charming, with the best location. Pay for the upgraded balcony if you can. it is worth it. we will always remember this lovely place. The staff was also so helpful and kind.
“Perfect Location”
We stayed in a "premium" room which had a small balcony directly overlooking the canal and old prison, to the right was a lovely view of lake Annecy and mountains and was perfect for people watching, the room itself was on the small side, with a good sized bathroom and separate loo, absolutely fine for a 3 night stay. The hotel reception was very small but perfectly adequate as we did not experience any 'bottle-neck' of guests checking in or out - our check-in was swift and each of the staff we met were very helpful, friendly and put our lack of French to shame with their almost fluent English, the lady serving breakfast was an absolute ray of sunshine! The hotel's location has to be probably one of the best in Annecy, right in the heart of the old town and many, many restuarants to choose from - overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay!
“Perfect location”
We just came back from spending 3 days at this hotel and loved it. The location is steps away from the scenic prison bridge and directly across the street from the lake and the beautiful park that sets beside it. The room was modern and very comfortable. Front desk spoke English and were friendly and helpful. I realize that people traveling by car cannot drive directly to the hotel, but that is the reason this old town section is so nice, you can't drive into it. I would stay at this hotel again when we return to Annecy.
“Great location!”
A lovely boutique hotel in a great position, right in the centre of the old town. A little bit hard to find but only a 10 minute walk from the station, lake a 3 minute walk, would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Best Location in Annecy”
The Hotel Du Palais de l'Isle is in an awesome location right in the heart of activities in Annecy. It's a typical European hotel with smaller rooms but it's exactly what we were looking for!
“Quaint but OK”
The hotel is in the 'old city' part of Annecy. It's quite hard to find because it's far from parking areas and in a pedestrian-only part of the city. You must park at least two blocks away - not too hard unless you have a lot of luggage. But even if you know the general area where the hotel is located, it is hard to locate the first time. After you find it, the biggest problems are behind you. The hotel is old, but I like old. It is fairly well maintained and the desk attendant was quite cheerful and helpful. The lifts are small and slow. The hallways are very narrow. Charming if you're not claustrophobic. The room met my basic needs but I was disappointed to find that internet service is non-existant. The best part of the stay was getting outside of the hotel and walking through the old city.
“Noisy but central”
very good location. rooms very small. but very noisy late into the night due to its location. Not advised for those who want a good nights sleep.
